I always wondered if the balance could be tipped in the other direction and then old man zangetsu would come out. He's technically a shikai spirit now

This is my least favorite form we see of him. Really the whole final arc choices with him for me were pretty poor. Very few actually meaningful fights for him. His Fullbring design which for me is the best design of all of them is swept aside so quickly after he gets it. Then We see pretty much nothing from his Shikai and even less from his Bankai. I would say Aside from the Ishida, and the Vizards, Ichigo gets sidelined to much. Overall I wasn't really satisfied with what little we get. I honestly can't even think of a single positive thing that happens with his character after everything but the rain.

Im hoping for the anime what they do with ichigos bankai is that after he activates it, him and Yhwach have a full fight with it showing everything and ending with Ichigo managing to kill Yhwach and then like everything turning black and white turning to static with the scene then transitioning to Yhwachs eyes and zooming out, Showing everything that happened was from Yhwach looking into the future of what happens if he doesn't stop ichigos bankai immediately, Then going to what happened in the manga of Yhwach destroying the bankai. Since i do think the scene of Yhwach destroying the bankai is a great thing showing his full might but disrespects ichigo far to much, Of course this also with extensions to the horn of salvation fight previously and the ending itself changing.

I agree with the whole ideia but I feel like having him fully defeat Yhwach just to then come back would feel bad at least for anime onlys, Yhwach actual defeat later would feel less cathartic, it wouldn't feel like "seeing God bleed for the first time" because the audience would've had already seen that. Maybe cut back a little bit before that would be better. Having Ichigo fully showcasing his true power while showing Yhwach legitimately struggling would be enough and would feel less plot manipulation (although that's quite literally what the Almighty does lol)

This form is the best but more importantly him reassuring Orihime that he's still Ichigo was an important and effective moment especially given her past memories of Hollow Ichigo's rampage with Ulquiorra. It was a heartwarming moment before battle and foreshadowed their relationship more so.

My favorite form of Ichigo. The name alone “Horn of Salvation”, is just such an awesome concept and matches perfectly for the form. To think we saw a version of this form all the way back agaisnt Ulquiorra. Sometimes I forget this form isn’t even his true bankai.

In one panel ichigo block Ywach attack with his forearm without taking damage, it might be hit blut vene or hierro, or combined, it would be awesome if he has all those traits becoming the culmination of the his Trifecta Powers

My theory is that the "Horn of Salvation" form is supposedly his resurreccion. If a resurreccion unleashes a hollow's true form and power, then it makes sense that Ichigo would look like that, a form reminiscent of the fusion between Young Man Zangetsu and White Zangetsu... cuz that's the true essence of Ichigo's power, a combination of everything, hence why his resurreccion takes on that form.

The only reason I don’t necessarily agree with this is because in a separate panel with kubo, he revealed ichigo and the vizards are capable of using resurrection. When resurrection is used, the zanpakuto disappears.

I always saw it as Ichigo becoming more like an arrancar when releasing his hollow powers seeing he doesn't have a mask anymore. I also like to think he only used halve of his hollow powers.

What they need to do is let the Bankai fight play out. Then what they can do is reveal that Yhwach had used the All Mighty to see the whole fight in the future. And then he brakes Ichigo’s Bankai because he sees Ichigo kill him in the future. Either that or let him use his Bankai to its fullest after it’s fixed again and before the magic arrow head that stops all of Yhwach powers for a second is shot.

I don’t think yhwach can fight against ichigo bankai since every single time ichigo launched an attack at him in bankai it killed him instantly and that is without the extra enhancement of horn of salvation Kind of similar to how ichibei was literally flexing his way through yhwachs attacks and yet went down instantly with the almighty but even worse since ichigo power is much more suited for straight up fight instead of endless debuffs of power Basically same reason he activates the almighty as soon as ichgio even slightly is able to push him despite being able to break the grand ray getsuga with his bare hands and spends the rest simply trolling ichigo instead of like insta killing orhime or ichgio

I always thought that eventually Ichigo would have eventually evolved this form to have both horns. Also perhaps if he did this process with the smaller blade, he’d be showing Quincy powers instead. Or similar to the light novels, maybe if Ichigo called a different release command depending on which power set he wants he’d get a different release.

I really think that the chaotic look of the HoS transformation just comes from it being new and incomplete. in the grand timeline of bleach, Ichigo has known that he is part Quincy for all of 45 seconds and I think that contributed to him choosing not to try to use those powers in this fight, at first. He's more comfortable and using his hollow/soul reaper powers and how they work, so he decides to lean on them instead of mixing in the Quincy. I bet that if he let himself draw more on his Quincy powers, the form would look more solid and put together. In the end, he even says he really can't use this form well yet, so that tells me that what we see isn't "right" it's just what he can do at the moment. I would go as far to say, that if a transformation isn't using all of his traits, it isn't complete at all because he's a natural hybrid so he shouldn't have to switch between powers like a Vizord, all of his powers should be mixed into one pool that he can always use. HE may not be good at it yet, which causes an uneven mix, but just like baking a cake, once he gets the ratio of ingredients to balance out, I don't think we will see HoS again because we will see what HoS is SUPPOSED TO BE!

I love that ichigo has a butt load of abilities but we only ever think of the one or two getsuga attacks 😂 nvm the fact he has a zillion forms and nearly a handful of variations on his released states. His abilities have conditions to meet as a form of balancing him, like Isshin's bankai, but it's applied to the facets of his soul instead of just his bankai. Whenever the hell arc happens, I'll be curious to see the spin on his mastery or absence of those abilities, as he clearly is in a different, more subdued form of his base again.

there are a few things that kubo says that make me think he can activate all at once. he has stated that just like tosen, the visored's can activate an arancar state with enough training. ichigo has activated sonido and blut vein in the same battle. my theory is that this is his "arancar form" and eventually we can see him layer on quincy powers like blut vein, sklaverei, or maybe even a voldstandig. I don't see him nanifesting a bow just because his "range" is already covered by getsuga tensho, but it could manifest as a different form like quige's did

If I was to make a guess, I'd say this is a partial Resurreccion. Ichigo was trying to draw out his Hollow power but doesn't have enough control over the individual parts to fully do so. He's just gotten to the point of equilibrium, so separating those powers once again is probably very difficult to do. As to why he's using Hollow? Well, he IS going against the ultimate Quincy at this point, and we know that Hollow Reiatsu is toxic to them. So, the way I see it, Ichigo has altered the state of his power thanks to forging Zangetsu with both spirits. Therefore, the 'Shinigami' power becomes the central state in which he channels the other powers as well. This is likely why his Bankai is comprised of all three of his powers. However, he should also have the ability to draw upon the separate aspects of power as well. Theoretically, Ichigo has access to his Resurreccion form as well as a Vollstandig form that could each be incorporated into his Shingami state. So, he should be able to use a combined Shinigami/Hollow form or a combined Shingami/Quincy form with them taking on the aspects of the individual spirit. However, because of Ichigo forging the other aspects of his power into his Shinigami power, I don't think Ichigo has a straight Shingami form.

My opinion about Dangai Ichigo is this: the Dangai Ichigo we saw in Deicide was the pinnacle of the power Ichigo had at his disposal at the time, and Ichigo has long since eclipsed that level of power. That being said, if Ichigo did it again, I'm sure that form would be the strongest thing in the Bleach cosmos.

I don't know how this isn't obvious to everyone else. Ichigo just did a bit of Jinzen for a few months and went to fight Aizen. Literally nothing extraordinary in the least. EoS Ichigo actually had extraordinary upgrades by the Royal Guard that made Renji go from bottom tier Captain level to making senior Captains look like chumps, with Shikai alone to make the power up even more absurd; and had an authentic Zanpakuto forged for the very first time. Ichigo fought Aizen with a pretend Bankai.

No to mention that TYBW Ichigo already had a massive head start over Ichigo before the Jinzen training: Fullbring Bankai Ichigo was exponentially stronger than FKT Ichigo's peak. We know this because Ginjo confused the air pressure produced by the normal swing of a sword from Ichigo's FB Shikai to be an upgraded version of Fullbring Ichigo's Getsuga, which was estimated by Tsukishima to have reattained the level of mixed powers Ichigo had in FKT arc.

Theory on Ichigo’s True Power: Future Negation I think the only true counter to The Almighty is Ichigo’s unnamed power which I’ll call “Future Negation” until a more suitable name is found. In the source material, Yawach says that Ichigo’s power is very similar to Orihime’s, and her power is the rejection of phenomena. I think “Future Negation” is the rejection of futures/fates/destinies that oppose Ichigo’s will or sincere desires, and in TYBW it is to defeat Yhwach and save Soul Society (and by extension the World of the Living and Hueco Mundo; the opposite of Yawach’s goal). Yawach felt like he had to repeatedly break Tensa Zangetsu because he was trying to prevent the full power of “Future Negation” from activating due to Ichigo’s true Bankai abilities. This ability is dangerous to Yawach because although The Almighty gives him the ability to see “all futures”, I believe he realized that “Future Negation” nips The Almighty at the bud by eliminating the number of futures he has to chose from(specifically any futures which result in the accomplishment of his goals because they are diametrically opposed to Ichigo’s). It makes Ichigo’s eventual victory a foregone conclusion because there isn’t a future Yawach can choose that doesn’t ultimately result in his own defeat; “Future Negation” has already eliminated any future where Ichigo’s desire to defeat Yawach and save Soul Society isn’t realized. If true, Kubo has essentially canonized plot armor and made it the most powerful/broken ability in the Bleach universe.

seeing ichigo with his golden iris on the black eye really make it stand out how much his hollow eye looks like Yhwach's golden eyes that float on the darkness covering him but where ichigos power is all internalized as part of him Yhwach can only wear the power having taken it for himself. so it makes me wonder if that is actually a representation of his hollow powers or if its a signifier of using a power similar to that of the soul king in some way. just something i noticed while looking at the two. its interesting that ichigos sword kinda becomes his other horn as hes able to launch cero by touching the horn and blade together and he needed both horns to do that in vasto lorde form. in the future it would be cool to see ichigo having trained with Uryu or another quincy to master that side of himself and it looks like the brave souls 7th anniversary design

I remember thinking at the time that Ichigo's Bankai could be something that has four forms, similar to Yamamoto West, East, South and North. I always thought that Ichigo's could be related to the phases of the moon, and each form would be a different mix of his powers. In my imagination when mixed together Quincy power would be related to his defence like blut, Shinigami related to the getsuga heritage, Hollow would be his increased speed and full bring his hability to wear his powers like a suit. So in this fight he's using a mixture off everything. He has some sort of full bring armor, he has the horn and the body marks of a hollows and the Shinigami of course. But he didn't use any Quincy blut. So I think he could be even better. In fact, he could protected his Bankai from braking using some sort of blut. That would be nice. I also like to think that maybe his Bankai form was somesort of oldman zangetsu trick to escape from Ywachs prophecies/dreams. I don't think that is his ultimate sword form. I like to believe he can change it like the rest

Dangai Ichigo is him accepting the hollow powers in more of an "I have these powers now and I'm not getting rid of them so I have to accept them" sort of way, whereas after The Blade is Me he knows that those powers were always his and it wasn't a failure on his part to not awaken his shinigami powers in time to avoid losing his soul chain and becoming a hollow. Also, Dangai Ichigo isn't consciously aware of the quincy powers he possesses either. So, while he's fused with his zanpakto, there's still some level of separation there. That implies that his true strength could be higher than that if he is capable of truly calling upon all of it at the same time. He just needs experience to get used to it.

I think the reason Kubo decided to make Yhwach destroy Ichigo Bankai is because he probably was so burnt out that he couldn't come up with a look, power, and abilities that properly showcases Ichigo omnipotent power that he has. You can tell because of how little he showed of Ichigo HOS form. This is why I'm excited for the anime to expand of this fight and I hope we get to see why Yhwach was shooked of his Bankai.

Here’s how I see it. His horn of salvation form is insanely powerful yet still incomplete which is why he only has the one horn when he faces ywach. When we get to the hell arc, I heavily speculate he will have both horns with the black pattern on his right eye too and it’ll look a bit different. We've seen the form that favors his quincy side more in the moments before using mugetsu. He takes on Yhwach's long dark hair and red eyes and even vaguely resembles that cloak of soul king reiatsu. He activated that form by pouring ALL of his reiatsu into it. At the time, though, he had no access to quincy reiatsu, so he was pouring in shinigami and hollow reiatsu, just like he poured in quincy reiatsu to activate horn of salvation.

I see the horn of this form being a broken mask fragment making this form an Arrancar version of Ichigo's hollow mask as the horn was similar to merged form of zangetsu who had a horn with a bit of a mask fragment.

You make a good point about the Hollow-prioritized form. While it points to an interesting possibility of Ichigo having separate forms based on what power he prioritizes, it might point to something else. After Yhwach made Ichigo kill the Soul King, Ichigo seemingly stopped actively using Old Man Zangetsu. He used both Zangetsu when fighting Bambietta's squad, but immediately after killing Reio he started only using White. He never uses a Getsuga from Old Man Zangetsu again as well, only seen using it from White's blade. He does still use it, but only as a physical blade, seemingly not drawing on the Old Man's power. Even when combining the two to form Tensa Zangetsu, it is Hollow-dominant, and underneath is the traditional form of Zangetsu. It is almost as if, after Yhwach used his Quincy power to make him "kill" Reio, Ichigo subconsciously or consciously distanced himself from his Quincy power, even to the point he used Yhwach's reiatsu to awaken this form. Even if he says he's not good at it (it is a new ability for him), it is still possible Ichigo's trust in his Quincy power was shaken to the point he subconsciously did not draw on it again. We don't even know if it will ever come up again, since Yhwach stole Ichigo's power, including his Quincy and Hollow power. I do not know how much of CFYOW is definitive canon aside from the Original Sin (now in the anime), as it was stated Ichigo's power returned to him, but it must mean something that Zangetsu was kept in the original single blade form in the Hell Arc, and not split apart again.

Hmm if I remember correctly. I do believe that the single for shikai in the hell arc chapter was explained as Ichigo can decide if he wants his Shikai to be one blade or two. It’s his choice. So in the He’ll arc chapter he wanted to use one Blade. And if he ever wanted to use both Blades he simply just needs to will it.

I can see if the New Breaths from Hell arc is animated and/or is finished in the manga Ichigo could train with Uryu and learn more of his Quincy power and more power would be displayed there and like you said his Quincy power may not do anything to Ywhach but may have a part in Hell (?) or hopefully in the anime it’s flushed out and he speaks with both Zangetsu teaching him his power as he battles

I always thought of the horn of salvation as the form his new hollowfication took, he doesn't have mask because he never was supposed to have one in the first place - hes a perfect hybrid not a vizard- so the method he previously was using is a crutch because he didn't understand his true nature much less understand how to tap into his hollow powers properly. Notice how hollowfication is on a timer and it was mentioned he could only draw on it a limited number of times consecutively, my theory being that when you draw power forcefully you only get it as a temporary boost/powerup (a very common trope in anime). This then ties in to Dangai Ichigo/ Final Getsuga Ichigo as it also has the same characteristic of being temporary because similar to hollowfication it represents Ichigo forcing himself to draw out his powers (at the cost of burning himself out). As such Dangai Ichigo probably reprents Ichigo at his maximum power (fully transcendent), a form he could achieve permanently if he trains to control all his power at once rather than forcing the power out and final getsuga possibly being the true bankai form of a perfected power Ichigo. I do like the theory that it could potentially mean Ichigo can pick and choose which powers he focuses on essentially having the capability to tap into a different set of abilities at least while he is capable of controlling them all at once.

Only remembering diferenty of the vizards Ichigo is no fused with an hollow, Ichigo soul is part hollow, the vizards never merged their soul with the hollow Aizen fused them, but Ichigo is not merged with anything, we can say that Ichigo, and his sisters, are the result of shinigame/human having offprings with quincy/hollow.

We know for sure there’s a quincy form like horn of salvation we just never saw it. The way ichigo body works his his right side is filled with the mix of hollow and shinigami reatsui while his left is quincy, what happened was the right side was overcharged with quincy reatsu so the mix of hollow and shinigami started to go to his left side enche why more black marks and the hollow horn appear on the left and not the right. On the contrary if ichigo was overcharged with either hollow or shinigami reatsui the opposite would happen, his quincy left side would start to go to his right side and create the quincy transformation we never saw. Personaly I think this quincy form would look very similar to mugetsu since in it ichigo has long black hair and red eyes looking kinda like Yhwach which would make perfect sense that a quincy transformation like that would take visual elements from the king

I believe itchigo surpassed his dangai self , because after the dangai training he had trancended SP in bankai . But while using his true shikai he didn't, he trained and now his base form was trancended, then he could stack bankai on top of it . Ps: sorry for the bad English 😅

Excellent video as always, for me this form is Ichigo who releases his power by giving priority to the Shinigami-Hollow powers and embodying them in himself, the Quincy powers as he says he only uses them to balance the others otherwise it would go out of control, so I would say Shinigami-Hollow 80% and Quincy 20% as usage. I would be very curious to see a video brought by you that analyzes the form of Ichigo New Year 2019 from Bleach Brave Souls, for me that is the perfect form with its 3 powers harmonized in unison and I also find it very beautiful visually and in terms of skill.

I like to think that some of Ichigo's exclusive forms from Brave Souls are him tapping into other powers/combinations. His "Beyond Bankai" form that came out with Byakuya's is is true Shinigami/Hollow Bankai. The recent form that came out with Uryu's new form is his Quincy form. Finally, the anniversary form that came out before these (black robe/reishi bow/hollow arm) is his full triple hybrid form.

Dangai Ichigo looks like Yuhabaha. I feel it’s more so Quincy power manifesting through Shinigami form. The hollow form, oddly is his left side, this Mugetsu is his right side. And the attack seems like a full use of the darkness ability but as a Getsuga. Just my thoughts

I've had thoughts about this form for years. I really think this is, in a weird way, what Aizen was striving for with his hollowfication experiments. This looks like a true, natural hollowfication. Ichigo needed his mask to access and control his hollow, but this is the case no longer. This form, among other things, is a near one for one reference to Hollow Tensa Zangetsu, and that's more than likely why it looks the way it does. I really think this is just the beginning of the perfection of his hollowfication, potentially allowing for more similarities to his Vasto Lorde form if he got better control, or at the very least full control over its abilities. I think that if the Vizards got more in touch with their hollows if possible, or if they were more perfect hybrids, they would have access to their versions of this form and wouldn't need their masks and could use the full extent of their hollow powers at will. Ichigo probably would have access to quincy powers should he learn how to, but I think this form was first not only due to the circumstance of the enemy, but because it's what Ichigo knows. Ichigo has practiced using hollow reiatsu and is much more comfortable with it, especially because it's merged with his Shinigami powers. The form is so messy because it's really not natural to either human or hollow. Vasto Lorde Ichigo was the true apex and completion of his hollow powers, but it's likely that the form is only half really complete because he's using some if not all of his hollow powers in his human form, aside from all the references of course.

I love this form but i agree is alittle messily design similer to Rengis true bankai the fact that he only hes one horn has kind if always aggrivated me i know he only has one horn and one hollow eye to represent that his hollow/ shinigami powers are only half of his power and his other side suppose to i guess represent his quincy but if i myself could redesign it i would give him 2 hollow eyes and 2 horns to represent his hollow as well as the long hair from his hollow form and i would also through in additional aspects to represent his quincy side like give him like 2 reishi black wings on his back and maybe a halo making him look like a lucifer like hollow angel

It is said that quincy and hollow are polar opposites, so probably Ichigo could only do a combination of shinigami x hollow or shinigami x quincy. Also, i can see that his quincy abilities gives him a defence boost while hollow gives him an offence boost.

Personally I prefer the designs from Brave Souls, the most direct comparison would be the 2nd anniversary/Artbook design. While I can appreciate thematic reasons for ditching the mask, there's no denying having it looks better, and the half mask in a way lets you have that cake and eat it too. Also, it may be subjective, but I prefer the longer hair, bringing over another aspect of the wild hollow, and with that I have to question what's with the hairstyle of the horn of salvation, experimenting for his adult design?
