When Amy was alive British comedians would make jokes about her alcohol and drug problems for a cheap laugh on national tv. Once she died they all looked stupid and rightfully so. Amy was a real talent, a rare talent, a person who comes along once in a life time. I'm glad you did a reaction for her and really appreciated her voice.

Sadly, Amy is a member of the 27 Club along with Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, and so many other fabulous musicians who died far too young at that age. She passed 9 years ago and a voice without compare was lost. There's a great movie about her life, called "Amy," that everyone should check out. Congrats on the fifty, I'll be around in a few when you hit a hundred. Onwards and upwards!

Amy was a star, unfortunately her husband distroyed her. Then her father pulled her out of rehab and put her back on tour, between anorexia, alcohol and heroin addiction she lost her life, her security guards failed to keep the dope away. So many people who should have been protecting her just collected the money and left her to crash and burn like a metior burning up as it fell to earth. She deserved so much better!

When Amy was popular, I couldn’t stand her song “Rehab”. Instead of looking into her further I just spent years judging her by her beehive and dramatic makeup. (Not so much like me so not sure why) When I finally took the time to actually listen to her other music, I was floored. She was an absolute phenom. Incredible. I learned a good lesson. But I’m so sad that she suffered so much.

Amy "I go back to black" Mr. Video "Don't do that."
@walshaw2
@walshaw2 4 жыл бұрын
Many interpretations of what the phrase "Back to Black" meant....I took it as meaning that Amy went back into a sort of state of mourning and depression(Black being the color worn by people at funerals, especially the widow) after her boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil casually went back to the safety of a relationship with his ex-girlfriend, when Amy thought that they'd just had a bad falling out...She wore her heart on her sleeve and wrote the "Crude" second line out of sheer anger at him for leaving her when she thought that they'd just simply had another of the many rows that they had in their relationship. It's been suggested that he introduced her to heroin and this affected her in a bad way, although it was thought that she had kicked the habit by the time she died. She did stand by him when he was imprisoned and they did get married. The video to the song is all about a funeral and her wearing black and has over 500 Million views. Her friends and family all say she was quite a shy and sweet girl until she got involved into what turned out to be, ultimately, a toxic relationship. RIP Amy Winehouse.

@@your_huge_ego_bores_me Relax, first of all. Don't insult people for having opinions. It is about heroin. Her emptiness drives her back to using. Addicts arent happy, its not a celebration. Dude you are awesome. So much High Energy, Open Mindedness, and Positive vibes. Can literally feel your energy through the phone and you have the ability to pick me up when I feel my lowest. For that I thank you. Please keep going no matter what; it would mean the world to me at least .

Amy is one of the most recent members of th 27Club. Artists that died at the age of 27 Kurt Cobain, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin I’m not as sure on the other newer members of the club.

He likes Blow and she likes Puff! As someone in recovery for 15 years after 36 years in blackness, I know for a fact that a person cannot be recovered until they are good and damn ready! It doesn't matter how many lifelines are thrown out to you. If you aren't sick and tired of being sick and tired, no one can save you. If she could only have survived long enough to get sick and tired, she would have had a chance, but she was in the early stages, still chasing that first buzz! Recovery is possible, don't give up!!!

I always felt like she sounded like Lauryn Hill. Not a copy, just similar vocal quality.

Lauren is straight up R&B, while Amy was pure jazz. The two genres can sound quite similar in many cases, though, so the connection/ comparison between Queen Lauren and Goddess Amy is certainly understandable. The way they both hit those runs too... I love Lauren to death and there is no denying her amazing talent, but I personally am drawn to the soul in Amy’s voice even more.

Davis Comics Not true, she did use heroin but she didn’t start until she got back with Blake, the year after Back to Black was released.

Davis Comics There are so many great songs about drug use and abuse as well as many that talk about the regrets or recovery from it. I decided a long time ago to simply enjoy the musical genius that abounds.

Back to Black does not reference heroin. The line, "you love blow (coke) and I love puff (weed)" showing the dichotomy of Blake and Amy. She was a polar opposite to him.

It was more than drugs. Amy had an undiagnosed mental illness called BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder). It caused her to distance herself from the people who wanted to help. But Amy was an adult. You can't make a grown woman do anything she doesn't want to do. Not really.

Thank you for featuring her... she was such an amazing artist... she sang from her heart on EVERY tune she did... and she did MANY! Lioness is probably my favorite album she did... lots a format mixes and raw recording stuff... covers as well as originals. Check out her jazz stuff too... SIMPLY AMAZING!! She was one of the greatest jazz vocalist of all time if you ask me ... she developed her own style based off MANY iconic singers and artists , both male and female, of various styles. She was naturally talented and could perform any style... but in my opinion, she THRIVED in the jazz realm🖤... you hear it heavily in her live acoustic performances especially. She was amazing because she used her voice like an instrument ... you felt every note... 🖤💙🖤💙🖤 Her music and stylings really opened up the door for so many more artists to hit the scene too... she was a forerunner of her time... an absolute gem to the music world... and she and her talents are greatly missed. R.I.P. Amy💙
