He was only 27 yrs old here - so suave & debonaire with such a smooth, melodic yet powerful voice... I was born the year this came out. As a little kid I remember my mom, aunties, their friends, & hell, even their mothers all and I mean ALL of them had huge crushes on Sir Tom Jones. Whenever he came on the TV, they would all crowd around it & get all giggly like a bunch of school girls. It was funny how they'd yell at us kids (or the husbands) to keep the noise down so they could hear him sing. :-) Elvis Presley was a fan & close friend, often saying that Tom's voice was the best he's ever heard. In fact, Tom's nickname is "The Voice". He recently celebrated his 80th b-day. He can still belt out the songs & was still doing shows until all this stupid COVID business became a reality... I remember watching clips of his concerts & all the women were either fainting & passing out onto the floor or throwing their panies on stage. As a kid, i didn't understand what was driving these ladies so crazy to strip off their underwear to toss them and their hotel room keys at his feet. Now I do understand - LOL! Ok, you must now check out, in this order - "Delilah" and then "Green green grass of home" - seriously dark/deep lyrics, but Tom sings them so beautifully that you forget what the songs are actually about. :-) For some lighter, more upbeat tunes check out She's a Lady, It's not unusual, & KISS (his cover of Prince's hit song with the British band, Art of Noise).

He's a South Walian like myself a Valley Boy, born 12 miles down the road from me, Welsh people have fairly distinctive voices, Elvis Presley loved Tom Jones voice before they ever met Elvis though Tom was an African American because his voice has such soul.

@@tonymontana6550 jealous ? his fame, fortune or popularity ? He was, and is, a complete shit - incapable of resiting women and all the hype. His wife had the balls in that relationship. I just don't find men sexy for their outward behaviour. I prefer it when they wear it well and I can get lost on their eyes and not their crotch.

Tom, a treasure from our lovely little Wales, land of song. Wales is known for its male voice choirs- try Only Boys Aloud singing Calon Lan on Britains's Got Talent. We love to sing, even my dog Bryn would throw his head back and we would sing our hearts out together.

I have loved and listened to him my WHOLE life. His career started 2 years before I was born (he was 24, so he is 27 in this video). He IS a legend.
