As for Bus stop, I was told that the circuit tapped into a subsidy from the Wallon government to improve public transport. They wanted to upgrade the chicane, and found that they could get a grant if they would put a bus stop there. The gov’t however forgot to add to the prerequisites that there should be a bus running there. Some people claim that there was an actual bus stop next to the track for a couple of years, but I can’t confirm that.

There’s a hill called “Kemmel” in the West-Flanders province of Belgium, named after the Celtic war god Camulos. Just speculating it may have something to do with the Kemmel straight.

Kemmelberg aka Mount Kemmel is also the only logic I see in the name…it also has a very steep hill with a long straight street once down or up…. Not sure though

All I know about Kemmel straight is that on the old circuit this part was more squiggely and the modern track has it “straightened out”. That explains part of the name

Busstop chicane was actually named after a real busstop. There was not enough money to upgrade the track and the government only could invest in public transport so they physically made a busstop for extra money :)

Mate slight correction Kemmel is nothing in Dutch, What you ment is Kameel. Although after some research Kemmel is a place in Belgium.

So Spa-Francorchamps is named similar to many airports. Many airports have the name of the biggest city they are close to, but since the airport is actually in some smaller city/county/municipality, that name is thrown in there as well.

There are quite a few mistakes but nothing dramatic, I still enjoyed the video. Good work! Stavelot 2 / Paul Frère is also communly called "Le Raccordement" because it's the junction with the old track. (left side at the exit of the corner), it's also communly called "le karting" because it's next to the gokart track. I have never heared the last chicane being called "la nouvelle chicane", dunno where you found that one lol. And yes it's "la nouvelle chicane" and not "le nouveau chicane". Bloody french, I know.

Apparently, Kemmelberg is a hill formation (located 1km from the village Kemmel) , where one of the most ferocious battles of the first world war took place. Spa was built shortly after the war ended, so it kinda makes sense that they named the Kemmel curves (as they were back then) after a famous battleground? Maybe it has to do with the fact that Kemmelberg is a hill, so the name implies elevation? A website called overtsteer448 mentioned Kemmelberg, as in the hill, rather than Kennel the village as an inspiration for the name and it makes a bit more sense.
