Dragon's dogma ending are pretty sad, especially the one where you're killing yourself, it's so cruel when you think about it... But having your heart given to your Main Pawn make it less sad, I think, because in a way you're still living. And we can't really complain, because since the begining, it was our choice... We could have lived as a King, or as a simple fisher, but we decided to fight. I think that it's making the end even more beautiful

I agree, when I chose to kill myself And having to hear my pawn call out to me as we fell I was in tears. But I was happy when my pawn had her own life.... Even though I was a male, but made me happy.

@@shadedergu9921 exept that it doesnt all you do is end your mortal life when you go back into the final boss fight in ng+ you fight your character as a god from what i can tell piercing yourself with the gods bane grants freedom and your body to your pawn you remain on the throne awaiting a new arisen to take your place and only that arisen can end you for good using the godsbane thus taking your place and the cycle continues

The ending was supposed to be sad, but during the scene where the Arisen and the Main Pawn falling from the sky, My arisen was only wearing Silvervest and silk lingerie. My Arisen's boobs flapping like crazy it's really hard not to laugh... awesome game!

Am I the only one whose thought how funny it would be to wear the Robes of Salvation for your first playthrough, then fight the Seneschal offline (This lets you fight yourself from the previous game) And when he takes the white robe off, it'd be the exact same but different color.

Basically the Senechal is god. As time passes being god drains you and you need a replacement. The dragon is then sent to make a Arisen and then fight it. If they fail, the current Senechal stays in power till a new Arisen is found. If they kill the dragon, they face the Senechal and if they fail, they become the next dragon. If they win, they can choose to live their life normally as before, or become the next god. The cycle can be broken if they stab themselves with the Godsbane.

IKEEMBLEM No, New Game+ shows that the cycle was not broken and that Godsbane needs to be in the hands of an Arisen to kill the Seneschal. Look at how Savan takes the blade from his chest, he probably plunged the blade in there too and realized that it would not free him unless another Arisen used it.

At the very end, you'll go back to the main menu and you can start New Game+ (NG+) afterwards.

I was attacked by the guy in the cloak but he didn't reveil himself then I killed the dragon and went to gran siren and the duke said "the took the offer didn't you?" And then. He looked really old and told the guards I put a curse on him and now the guards always attack me and I'm lvl 40 mystic knight

I wish he'd been this involved when I fought him. By the time I got to him, he only did 1 damage to me and I 1-shot both him and the pawn. Very disappointing.

You can. Well, not as the dragon, but you'll get a retry screen afterwards, which puts you right back to where you had to make te decision.

How did Savan become that god? At the beginning the dragon made his demand “Now choose, flee or step forth” this either meant, retreat and be forever bound or fight and get your life back, BUT, how did he end up as this god? Did he kill the previous Seneschal after doing exactly what the Arisen did? Did he successfully kill the dragon which opened a hole in the everfall? This bears another question.. are there multiple everfalls? How did Savan become a god, Then that bears the question.. who was the first?

Things like first and last “are beyond our ken”, as he tells you. But he must have become seneschal in the exact same way: defeating the dragon and then the previous seneschal, back when he was full of life and the will to live. But he spent his all sustaining the world, creating life over and over in a constant repeating cycle, and so eventually used the godsbane on himself, which spawned a new dragon to seek his replacement.

@@pumpkinhill4570 I don't think Savan even had a godsbane to begin with. When our arisen killed the dragon Grigori, the arisen automatically have the godsbane in their possession. Seneschal needs to be around for the new dragon to be recreated. Think about this. An arisen who loses to Seneschal automatically becomes a dragon. This is exactly how Grigori became a dragon. If Savan had a godsbane and used it on himself, I don't think we will even have our story as an arisen. There would not even be an attack on Cassardis. Dragons are replaced only if the arisen challenges Seneschal and loses. If Savan used godsbane himself, he won't be Seneschal anymore.

@@hp2546 Well when you use the godsbane on yourself a dragon is shown falling out of the sky. My theory is that you can't kill yourself with the godsbane, but it spawns a dragon and a chance for replacement. The seneschal pulls the godsbane from his chest to give to you. It definitely looks like he got stabbed that way by somebody.

ypu dont have the ending when you use your godsbane insted of sitting in the chair at the end. its best done with salene as the girl you safe at the end
