I’m in the second-youngest show choir group in Ankeny, and seeing this as what we could be one day is just amazing. Spectrum went undefeated this year and I can’t tell you how happy nights like these made me feel ❤️ Show Choir for life

Last year when I was in Ignition I wanted to quit because I wasn’t feeling that feeling you feel at the beginning of the year anymore, but after watching this performance I know that someday I want to make it to Spectrum, hopefully I can 😁

What I love about this performance is that this group (performance) has taken typical show choir, flipped it on it's head and allowed us to see a whole other side. Stripping the male/female attire forces us to see the beauty of the weight, space, time and flow of the human body in dance. You present gorgeous and classical lines of dance. The choreography complements the musicality of the show. While show choir is very heavy hands and arms, this program relies heavily with strong leg movement (giving us the perfect subtle amount of arms and hands and not abandoning what show choir is about!) This is a large group and it can be incredibly difficult to create a great stage design (positive and negative space on the stage) with such a large group. Yet, you all have managed to do it. I love the small "groups" of dances and especially after you bring in clusters of beautifully repeated dance movements to present a sort of a "round" such as a song (think Row Row Row your boat) to bring added interest to an already seen sequence. After giving us a collaborative and unified dance, broken down into small sections at different intervals presents a fantastic texture all over the stage. I love how this performance brings movement for the eye to move around the stage and watch little segments going on here and there. You wonder who are the female vocals, yet you don't care because you are so enthralled by the movement, you can hear them and they are wonderfully present. The dynamics of this performance bring excitement and while some of the words are a bit fast, you present articulation. We can hear what you're singing. The chorale alone is amazing in harmony, dynamics and effect. If there is only ONE harsh critique I have, from 5:18 - 5:21, the music becomes so dynamic, big and in your face, yet the choreography becomes small. Clenching fists and bringing movement inward. I would have preferred to see the movement start inward and small, pop the fist into a "jazz hand" pushing upward and outward ... movement becomes as big as the gorgeous growing sound. But if that's my only criticism for an entire program, I'd say this group on the whole as has NAILED it! The story line is adorable. This group creates effect beautifully. If there was ever a group to visually explain IMPACT, this is the group! Thank you for turning show choir on it's head and showing us how it's done unconventionally. SO enjoyable.

Probably Spectrum's best show ever. I absolutely love "Falling in Love" and "Juggernaut."

Is there a full setlist for this show? Trying to find their closer.
@Juanatin4 жыл бұрын
@@billcoc16 The closer is an original. They sing "Settle Down" by Kimbra "Falling in Love" by Dennis Kruissen "I Choose You" by Sara Bareilles "The Juggernaut" from The Wild Party "How Long" by Charlie Puth "When the Party's Over" by Billie Eillish and their closer which is an original... I don't know what the title is, nor the arranger.

@@Juanatin Gotcha. It seems to reference bits of previous songs as the bridge of "When the Pary's Over" and sings "I'll choose you". But really really great closer. Thanks!
