I need some MrWhoseTheBoss Merch in my life Also I think there should be a different option where you get the option where you pay around £20 less, this would make it more appealing to a consumer. I also think if you're ordering your phone there should be more configuration like laptops. For example, an extra case, an extra charger, an extra set of earphones or cable. This could mean that they could all be included meaning there is less trips to your house from amazon for example. Considering chargers are getting faster and more expensive, it's a puzzling time to remove it from the packaging. Amazon companies will see a big spike in profit from it probably, which will be good for a lot of people given the current financial situations. I'm hoping OnePlus don't pull the plug on the packaging (literally 😂) but my 65w charger in my OnePlus 8t will last me for a bit. Also while I'm here I'll also mention your my favorite KZbinr! Keep up the amazing content!

2k for a cell phone is a ridiculous price especially when the phone only costs 10 to 25 dollars to make. I just bout an Iphone 15 pro max 3 days ago. I would not recommend that phone people who have only used Iphones will never understand how much easier it is to use and android phone. At any rate i didn't get a charger in my new Iphone Box. Thought a mistake occurred they told me environment bla bla bla......... So not only does the phone not come with a charger of any type. I need to buy a special charger for an additional 50 to 130 dollars which will require a delivery truck to was fuel to send me a charger. Apple Iphon's keyboards sucks compaired to samsung, Iphone has no thumb print lock, no way download music to phone without buying a service. Cell phones are really starting to suck. I would much rather have a landline but to late for that as the land line it twice as expensive. At least back when landlines were reasonable i could buy a new phone or repair old one for less then 20 dollars. Data: An average cruise ship takes two weeks to cross atlantic, uses 150 tonnes of fuel per day = 2100 tonnes of fuel for the trip It carries about 3000 people = 0.7 tonnes of fuel per person boeing 747 uses approx 10 kg of fuel per kilometre and there are 9000 kilometres = 90 tonnes of fuel per jet It carries about 500 people = 0.18 tonnes per person Energy density of aviation fuel is only slightly higher than diesel.

I don’t know exactly how to work it out into an equal but taking into account everything he has stated in this video about now actually having 3-4X extra waste and agreeing that it’s true, what’s the time span of which that ends up covering itself and then making up for itself? So right now we have 3-4X, but eventually there’s will come a time where that’s slowed down because people have bought their accessories and there are only so many people on earth at one time so there will come a time when people aren’t wasting 3-4X compared to now and are actually saving, when would that be and going past that time what are the positive and negative effects from what is happening now at that point. Honestly I question that I’ve been wanting answered because I think that would be the best way to find out

Remember when companies where trying to appeal to what customers wanted? Now its all about maximising profits. I think its got to a point where they are just seeing what they can remove and still get people to buy. (headphone jack, charger, headphones, ports, repairability) If they really cared about the environment they would let me repair a phone I purchased and not implement software on it that purposely blocks replacement parts from working correctly. People believe the newer the product the better, some just buy it for the fashion statement. Honesty I think everything is getting worse. Even after owning the S20, S21, iPhone 12 etc that I purchased for videos, I sell them and continue to use my 4 year old phone. I always had uses for my old chargers, infact I am constantly finding myself running out of USB chargers and have to buy more. As you said with my current S22 all my old chargers were not compatible as this phone uses USB C to USB C charging cables, where as all my old ones are USB C to USB A. Nor did they have the higher charging rates needed for features like fast charge. Which just resulted in me to pay $30aud for a charger that before would have just come with the god damn phone before, which is why I think companies jumped onto this trend so quickly, it has nothing to do with the environment, rather now they can upcharge you for something that would have just been included in the first place. I'd also recommend people keep their old phones if they are still in good workable condition, they come in useful for many thing. Mainly because phone insurance is a scam and if your phone dies good luck getting a replacement in a timely or costly manner.

@r3al_darkmatter3553 жыл бұрын
Yeah wireless charging is overrated
@bassett_green3 жыл бұрын
However, the overall effect of that is pretty small from an environmental standpoint. Using eric's numbers (referenced in the video here), and assuming you run your phone down to 0% every day before charging, the loss due to that inefficiency is only about 2.5 kWh yearly. If we use the average mix of electric generation source across the US, that's 1.04 kg of greenhouse gas emissions added (0.417 kg per kWh). That's the equivalent of driving a car 2.5 extra miles per year, or the equivalent of reducing the weight of you suitcase by 375 grams on a one-way NYC -> London flight. Coincidentally, the average adult bladder is a bit more than 375mL; you could offset the greenhouse effects of that inefficiency by emptying your bladder before boarding one transantlantic flight.

The charging standard is usually written on the transformer. I don't think you needed to spend all that time randomly plugging in to things. Plus a stand makes it easier to see notifications and such.
@CakePrincessCelestia3 жыл бұрын
I use wireless charging since having the Note 3 and I even bought a qi charging cover for the older S3. The charging pad sits on my desk and everytime I have to charge either my old S3, N3 or my new N9, I just put it on there. Couldn't be more convenient. And I don't care about it charging rather slowly, that makes the batteries in the devices last longer. Even the S3 one is still fine today (we're talking a 2012 device here). When I need more juice in a hurry on my N9, I still can plug it to a cord and activate fast charging in the power options for a moment - or just have a powerbank with me. I literally only charge these things via cable while not being at home and usually they last long enough so I don't even have to. The great thing is you don't wear out the port. I've read and heard of so many people bricking their USB ports on their devices simply due to thousands of plugging and unplugging processes... can't happen to me :D Oh, and a fun fact besides, almost a meme: Whenever I see an iPhone, there's like an 80+% chance it's just hanging on a cord that's connected to a brick on the wall, charging. I can use my N9 for like 3 days... BTW if I had a HDMI capable monitor, I could simply put my N9 onto the charger and plug it directly to the monitor using DeX. Without power supply that wouldn't be a great thing to have... well, to be fair, I don't have a monitor with that stone age technology, ist just has DP, but OTOH still a legacy DVI as well (tried with an adapter already, no good, thing doesn't recognize the 1920x1200 res and runs at 720p only) :D

Over time Xiaomi got an option on their website that allows you to choose if you get a charger in a box when you by a phone, the only right way to do it. Also good video, fair points made

Not forgetting, they haven't reduced the price of the phone by the cost of the things they no longer supply with it!
@MrDestroyedSoulx3 жыл бұрын
That's not true for Samsung though. They did lower the price of the S21 because they cut costs by removing the headphone jack, not including headphones or a charger, took out the SD card slot, and even lowered the screen resolution from 1440p back down to 1080p. This allowed the price to be lowered to $799 for the base model. But it came at quite a cost, feature wise.
@nadeatoms3 жыл бұрын
@@MrDestroyedSoulx i think he meant that because there is no charger or headphones, they should lower the price because of that what you described to me sounds like how every phone company makes a mid ranged phone: take the flagship then remove some features that aren't very important, but important enough so that people would buy the actual flagship for them
@theskywalker84163 жыл бұрын

You hit the nail on the head. The phone companies can say "well, it's not *our* fault the customer bought a new charger and head phones. We did *our* part." Like, don't ever believe a billion dollar corporation when they say they "did it for the environment." No. They did it for the tax breaks. They did it to save money on production for less material, while charging more.
@xorsama3 жыл бұрын

@@NathanWubs tho for me i usually buy headphones n earphones seperately , but my case is different since i spend like 100s of dollars on earphones n headphones.....but trust me, the ones you get with the phone are usually much better than what you would get for cheap in the market, you have to invest a lot to get gud quality stuff and from what i know some of the cheap buds that used to come paired with devices are now legendary....people pay good money to get their hands on them ... n they are no longer produced or the market is full of fakes
@notusingmyname47913 ай бұрын
the company argument would be that A. not everyone should do shopping via amazon, just go to a store to get these peripherals, B. you should buy/order them all at once so more of them come in one box, C. it is not their responsibility to reduce the amount of waste that an unrelated company does with their packaging and shipping, D. you can buy their brand of peripherals when you order their phones as you need/want and E. the versions of what they used to ship with their phones were the crappy versions of the same products they sold separately which were more often than not, thrown away in favor of [the] customers [they want you to be] ordering the better [and more expensive] product.

"GOING GREEN" is just a ruse. The reason they are actually not including chargers, cables and earphones is to make a ton more money. They are selling these devices just the same as if these devices included all these accessories. If you study the pricing pattern of these phones, the rate of increase every year is the same if you start from the year wherein accessories were included up to present.

Yes. These companies are removing chargers in hopes that you will eventually buy one. No it doesn't not mean that you have to go out and get new chargers delivered in. You're already at the store. When you buy the phone. Just grab a charger. They can stop giving headphones because if you're buying a 1000€ phone, chances are you already have Bluetooth headphones or your car has Bluetooth or CarPlay or something.
