I'm still gobsmacked at how trucks can travel at speed on icy roads.

They can't, although there are crappy truckers that try.

Idiots and I've been driving for 30 years, they are called steering wheel holders, no skill, common sense , or knowledge

As a truck driver myself, only idiots drive at high speeds in bad weather conditions, or on an icy road. You have to be extremely cautious when driving in those kind of conditions

I’ve never seen destruction on this scale before. These biggest truck crashes are truly a testament to how powerful and dangerous large vehicles can be.

All the truckers going way too fast for conditions crash and smash. Weird.

this video is really well put together, and i appreciate the effort that went into compiling these clips. but honestly, i can’t help but think that some of these crashes could've been avoided if drivers were more patient. road rage seems to be getting worse these days, and it just makes me wonder if we need better awareness campaigns. what do you all think?

I am soooooooo glad I got out of trucking before the steering-wheel-holders took over . This new "breed" of so-called truck drivers can't handle the straight , dry roads let alone anything in bad weather . And , they don't have a clue what those things hanging on the outside of the truck are for .

I get where you’re coming from. There’s definitely a noticeable shift in the trucking world, and it can be frustrating to see some drivers who seem to lack the skills and respect for the job that older generations had. The basics, like understanding how to handle different road conditions and even knowing their own equipment, seem to get overlooked. It’s a whole different attitude out there now, and you’re right-some of these “steering-wheel-holders” don’t seem prepared for anything beyond smooth, easy roads. The job demands so much more, especially when safety is on the line.

4:50 If a commercial truck driver ever does this, all you have to do is call the company they are hauling for and report the incident. 100% they will investigate and fire the driver. Source: I work for a logistics company

The average CDL on the road today has less than 5 years of driving experience. It’s a scary thing. The average driver on the road doesn’t know the basic rules of the road either. The federal DOT conducted surveys in 2022. Not a single car driver got more than a 70% score on the rules of the road.

A LOT of these cars have never heard of a truck’s blind spots 🤦‍♂️🙄🙃. Trying to make it the truck’s fault for being where the truck can’t see you. Yea, ok…I don’t even drive trucks, but I learned about blind spots in trucks in drivers education…

I learned about the blind spots from old friends. Also learned how to signal to them to change lanes, or hazards etc. I wish more people would and would understand that the space in front of them is a safety thing not a "cut in front of me" thing

6:15 The truck driver was actually in the right and the cammer was in the wrong. The truck driver pulled over to save several vehicles that pulled into him and then the cammer pulled into him as well. Dick move.

Why oh why are people allowed to pass (undertake) on the nearside in the US? If this caused an accident in the UK they would be ticketed for dangerous driving as a minimum.
@stevieschacht2231
@stevieschacht2231 2 ай бұрын
It's not allowed here. People drive very recklessly. Illegal lane changes without looking, Tailgating, going under the posted limit in the passing lane etc. You're only supposed to pass on the left here but people are aggressive and impatient. They will pass on the shoulder if they're impatient enough. Really it comes down to being vigilant and paying attention when youre driving because people like that are everywhere. I call and report reckless drivers almost daily after nearly being hit
@specialed6357
@specialed6357 22 күн бұрын
@stevieschacht2231 It is allowed here depending on your states laws. Try calling it in in my state and they'll laugh at you or tell you to stop wasting their time with things people are doing legally. Not every state has the same exact laws. I and thousands of others do it in my state all the time. Including police passing on the right all the time and we also pass police on the right all the time.

@brianbradley6744 are they ticketed for overtaking as well? There isn't any difference between overtaking and undertaking. In the U.S. our heads turn just as well in either direction. Just as making sure the lane to the left is clear, is the same as making sure the lane to the right is clear. People just have to bother to actually look first no matter which direction of lane they want to go.

A semi with trailer spinning slowly in a circle as a choreographed unit does seem very graceful! But...Stupid semi drivers aren't as exciting as stupid cars. The semis don't get tossed and flipped around nearly so dramatically.
