Monique’s video was not controversial. She spoke the truth. Nobody wants to see that.

It sad people get so upset about the truth. Can't say anything these days about nothing cos they're too sensitive. A lost generation. And I feel she said it out of love, no condescending, no uppity tone. I'm 59 yrs old and still learning buy these young folks don't want nobody to say anything about anything. This generation under me will be so lost. But we all had teachers to teach us things and we respected their opinions. People always comparing the things we do with what white people do and I don't know why. The topic was not bout white but about us. I read comments if the white people did this..... but she was speaking on us and she was not making a comparison. Let them folks do what they do and let us do what we need to do. I'm with Ms. Monique. So much can be said. The problem is we don't have real Big Mommas. We have grandmother's at age 30, when we know better we ought to try to do better. Thanks my sister/QUEEN!!!🙏🏾👍🏾❤

If businesses told yall to take the bonnets off to enter the establishment, you'd snatch yours and someone else's off. But someone inside the community addresses the issue and you look to unshaven legs and a bathrobe to argue against looking respectable and decent in the public. People marched in suits and dress shoes for the civil rights and social injustices and the best you can do is become a termite in a solid foundation of excellence to tear it down so you don't have to rise up. Thank God for those that didn't just mind their business but made the future of our people their business. Your appearance says a lot about you and first impressions, speaks volume, for what a person sees first is what they will think about you. True story, I was sitting in the mall watching people go by when two young girls stopped in front of me having a conversation, one of the young ladies had bright blue hair spike with tattoos and piercing, suddenly a man walks up to them and asked if they wanted to buy a Rock CD's he was selling, he look just as they did, piercing everywhere tall spike hair, like a Rock star. They looked at him strangely before replying, "NO", when the man walked away one of the young ladies looked at the other one and said, "What made him think we wanted to buy Rock music? It was their appearance because as I sat there watching them (and their conversation did not line up with how they looked, I was surprised) my first impression was they were into hard rock, but as I listened to their conversation, they were talking about church and God, what you wear and how you dress can sometimes speak negativity about your character be careful what you wear, what you say and how you carry yourself, for what you see may not be who you are, God bless.

I never even wore a bonnet to bed while I was married. I was worried about looking like somebody granny lmbo! I wanted to look at least cute going to bed so I invested in a slap and later a satin lined pillowcase. I personally have family members who go out in bonnets and I talk about them to they face lmbo! I thank God that I was dressed nicely, with my hair being neat. I went around the corner to a store to get a few snacks and something to drink. Exactly. I’m personally wondering if these same people using an 84 yr old black woman’s opinions as justification of their own judgements would also think an 84 yr old white man should offer his opinion on the current state of affairs in life. Just like I don’t want an elderly white man using his lived experiences through Jim Crow, civil rights and why we have to behave a certain way, etc. This is no different just because she’s black. We expected nothing other than her response.
