Thanks Max, yes it is always worth the time to try and figure out the root cause before taking the wrong actions.

Happy to hear that! Maybe at some point. U was pretty good on P6 but it has been a few years. I don’t really see very good youtube videos on it, at least a couple of years ago when I checked. Thanks for the suggestion and support

Amazing videos!!!, please make a series on Primavera P6

Thanks so much, I did use Primavera quite a bit so maybe. I’m also exploring other software that better links last planner short term to the Cpm. Including outbuild, TouchPlan (touchplan.io/) and HoyLu (www.hoylu.com/) for big companies TiuchPlan looks really good

Hello Mr Stephenson, have you a video with Earned Value Analysis on MS Project und generally if it worths, according to your opinion, to apply EVA on construction projects.
@TomStephensontraining Жыл бұрын
I don’t have one yet, my experience with EVA and MS project is somewhat limited. When I wrote my book planning cheduling and control of construction projects I used project I felt it had some limitations compared to Primavera.

Opps it went out to soon. I was going to add EVA requires a disciplined approach where your fundamental schedule is dine very well then you can move to eva if required contractually. Usually infrastructure civil and industrial projects are EVA the rest typically not.

@@TomStephensontraining Thank you very much Professor, your videos help the new PM. About EVA although i understood its philosophy i dont know how practically can be applied on real pojects. I use MS most to assign resources and to contol the total cost.

wondering if there is a way to create interactive material lists (rather than general cost) imbedded into the timeline that would sync costs to the baseline and have links to suppliers so anyone on the team could see a material order is needed and have immediate access to the list and the contacts through ms project. If not do you know of any other software that may have this capability?

None come to mind, perhaps when MS starts applying AI there will be more capabilities
