I passed MSc Medical Physics from Aberdeen in 1975 and spent another 15 months as research assistant in the department. Great place indeed. I owe a lot to this department for almost everything I achieved in my life. Wish all the best to everyone.

As a Medical Physicist, you will work with other health professionals like physicians, nurses, technologists, in diagnosing and treatment of conditions like cancer. After completing your MSc you have to choose an area of interest, be: Diagnostic and Intervention Radiology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiotherapy, which all use ionising radiation in diagnosis and treatment. Other areas one could choose are Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Ultrasound Imaging which uses non-ionising radiation. You can work in the academic area or in the clinical area with this qualification.
