Sounds very interesting and definitely more advanced than the original Atomic. But, how does it compare with the Sniper EFI? What would be the criteria to choose one over the other? Would be great if Holley had a video that compares and contrasts all their throttle body EFI offerings and explaining possible reasons to choose one over the other. Or reasons why not to choose one. I'm just glad that Holley keeps innovating.

I've been using Atomic 1 for 3 yrs on my 5.9 cammed magnum...in a 87 Power Ram..8' ft bed 4x4 and she rips ass!! Literally smokes my 35's with no effort...I use a 3 inch spacer under the throttle body..on top of an airgap alum.intake..No need for me to upgrade ... but Atomic 2 seems really cool!!!

You are lucky my friend has the MSD 1 and he has nothing but trouble with it. He is real close to putting a carb back on the engine. It has left him on the side of the road a few times.

I tried the original on my Mustang several times, with MSD support on the phone multiple times. Got it running and away from home several times but it would never hot start. Carried my old carb with me so i could get home. Waste of over $2,200. It sits on a shelf to remind me not to buy another MSD throttle body.

The separate ECU is the better method actually. The ECU on the throttle body are prone to RFI and heat issues.

In my opinion the 1st generation atomic is better. Only because you can mount the electrical module inside the vehicle and keep it away from heat.

Regards, I'm looking and I've been trying for a while to decide which efi would suit me better. I would like if you could help me choose the best option, I would greatly appreciate it... I have a Chevi Monte Carlo, all original, it even has A/C, I use it on weekends. week for the races a 1/4 mile it has a ls 6.0l or 366cl engine 750holly carburetor with an msd 6010 box I have wet nitro installed that generates 430hp to the motor wheels and with nitrous 666hp to the wheels...I don't want to know nda carburetor, that's why I want an efi but I see that the msd atomic 2 is going to be short for me when using it with nitrous and it's going to be high in the mixture when using it without nitro I like the atomic since the first one came out for 550hp which of the two I would do well with my ls 6.0l engine and if the atomic 2 can handle the time of my box cd msd 6010 ..... I await your prompt response thank you very much

The Atomic came first and its method of fuel delivery is different than the sniper. The sniper works like any port fuel injector and sprays the fuel into the air, this works more like a carburetor and uses a Venturi to mix fuel. If there's one thing carburetors have over EFI, it's that they get a better fuel mix so having that ability coupled with the control of an EFI should put this over the Sniper.
@dividingbyzerofpv67483 жыл бұрын
@@travisbeagle5691 it is nice to know about the differences in fuel delivery and atomization. The old Atomic is not even worth discussing right now in my view due to how clear it is that the Holley Sniper systems/menus/controller are identical. There is some kind of shared tech/parts here, knowing the relationship between Holley and MSD would be nice.

@@dividingbyzerofpv6748 I figured they were either divisions of the same company or one bought the other. Looks like Holley owns MSD. www.holley.com/blog/post/holley_performance_products_acquires_msd_group/

@@travisbeagle5691 there are indeed just too many little clues that the two are related. Had I known this MSD kit was coming I likely would have waited for the Atomic 2 for my 66 build. Found a decent Sniper package at Speedway and went with that. Tried looking for info linking MSD and Holley but te search results were the typical garbage amazon/ebay links or reviews from age old forums for either system. Gotta love the fact that the internet and search engines are becoming less user friendly.
