I’m having the same issue…I would think it’s because the torque converter bolts are loose…but if u find out please let me know

I wish I had an answer for you. Checking the torque converter bolts was one of the first things I did and they were in spec. I ended up pulling the transmission and replacing the flexplate and those bolts were not loose and had proper torque as well. There was no cracking on the flexplate either. I also put in a reman S10 converter. I wish I could say the noise went 100% away but I still hear a similar sound albeit maybe 10% of what it used to be. I'm suspect it was the converter itself and the new one I put it may not be of great quality but I'm not sure. Could be crank noise since that's where I think the noise comes from -where the flexplate mounts but, everything seems ok so I haven't stressed about it since. I don't mean crank noise from the oil pan...just that where the flexplate mounts, seems to be the mystery area for some reason. There's no noise anywhere but that specific area from what I can tell. But, it's definitely fixed compared to this video. What fixed it, I wish I knew.

@@s2k350 I appreciate it , I found the issue for me my flex plate was hitting the teeth on the starter making a knocking sound as I accelerate or put into drive or reverse… I removed the starter and drilled the bolts holes bigger to move starter back a hair and that stopped the sound completely thank god…thought maybe I had a bad rod bearing
