MSD Your 6BTM Box Needs Improvement

MSD in general has gone down hill fast. I have gone through too many 6AL boxes that fail after just a couple years. I want one of these boost referenced boxes, but afraid to spend the $650 they want for it and have it fail a year after the warranty expires, besides having to fix the hose issue.

I wouldn't doubt that most of the pieces inside are made in China. It probably cost them less than 50.00 to make one and they go for 700.00 plus ! A complete MSD ignition with all of the bells and whistles would cost more than a decent set of cylinder heads. Maybe more than a short block! lol

​@@Andy-t5e the 6BTM was 900 Canadian in 2019. That one went this year on my boat and now they are 1300 Canadian

It’s not a flow issue, it just needs to see pressure, it’s similar to your oil pressure sensor tubing.

So did you get yours up and running? I'm in the process of wiring mine up now, inside the passenger compartment. Previously there were two seperate boxs . One a 6Al and the other a seperate Timeing boost box. Something failed, think it was Too hot inside the engine compartment .

Anyone have a BTM controller that goes in the car or know how I can make one ? I don’t have one with my box
