Good another common genioplasty is the Open Wedge genioplasty where the posterior of the bone remains in contact with the superior bone segment and the inferior bone segment is rotated down like a hing.

it depends on severity of injury to mental nerve at the time of surgery ...numbness due to complete nerve transection will take more time to subside

mortaise is a hole cut into the mandible to recieve corresponding projection (tenon)

we should start making horizontal cut from the center i.e. symphysis region or midline region and proceed laterally towards premolars to complete the horizontal cut

Sir in case of tenon and mortise genioplasty, where is tenon prepared for reduction and where is it prepared for advancement, not quite clear .

tenon is prepared on superior segment in cases of advancement...in cases of setback it is prepared on lower segment i.e. mobilised segment
