It occurred to me after making this video where I give the tip of using a USB hub to turn off peripherals, this can also be done in the simulator due to the new profile configurations. Simply create active profiles for the peripherals you want to use and for the ones that you do not want to use set the profiles to “none”in the simulator. Now that the settings are saved for each aircraft in the simulator it will save which peripherals you use for each aircraft. Excellent tutorial (again). The switchable USB hub tip will solve a couple really annoying problems that l’ve had since day 1 in 2020. I have 3 Logitech FIP gauges on my panel. Every time I boot the computer, all the FIP gauges initially power on, but then later as the boot progresses, 2 of the 3 FIP gauges always power off for some reason. Every single time, I have to manually unplug and replug in the two FIP gauges that lost power, which puts excess wear and tear on the USB connectors and ports. With a switchable hub, I could just switch the 2 FIP gauges off and back on again. No more unplugging. Also, I have a USB powered under glare shield LED light strip that I have to use a cheap little remote to turn the lights on and off. The receiver sensor for the remote is located on the back side of the panel, so is very inconveniently located to operate the lights. I always have to randomly aim the remote in the general direction and keep pressing the button on the remote until the lights eventually turn on or off. Also, over time, the remote batteries eventually go dead, which is just another nuisance. With a switchable hub, I could just leave the lights on all the time and just use the hub switch to turn them on and off, which would be so much easier. Thanks for great tips!

This was a most excellent video which answered most of my perplexing questions on how to set up my controllers in 2024. I just have a few questions if you have time to answer: 1. I assume after setting up a profile (the Complex Twin for example) you would then need to find all the other complex twins in your fleet and set the same profile for those as well? Is there a way to then save the assignment, or is that automatic once you change to the next plane? 2. I noted when assigning the various axis that you moved the lever on the Bravo from the front to the back. I had viewed another KZbinr who moved the lever from back to front and then back again. Does this make a difference? Alternatively, what about moving just from back to front? Would that method then require changing the "reverse axis" button? 3. Noting you turn off a possible conflicts with another device by using a powered USB device with on/off buttons, could you also just select the "None" profile in the game to accomplish the same thing? I had used that method in 20020 by creating a "None" profile for a controller, then making sure all the assignments were removed/cleared, thus avoiding possible conflicts between my Bravo and my Thrustmaster Airbus Quadrant for the flaps and landing gear. Thanks again. I'd give you 5 stars if YT had that system.

@@Topcat1952 1. First time you fly a new plane you choose your control profile and then it stays bound until you change it. 2. It does not matter. Forward back or both it just recognizes the axis. 3. I have found that some bindings might not work in the "Airplanes" section but will work in the "Specific" section. Once again you come through with a great and super helpful setup. I fell like I could have figured this out again the same way, but a refreshed never hurts. I will point out that changing planes, my control profiles did not change in relation to the plane I had selected. Maybe that’s a bug for me, maybe I did something wrong, but I know I followed your directions to a T. I also notice that there are airplane specific controls. I am wondering if that is relevant to how certain button/switch mappings exist and how they would interact with a specific profile for a specific aircraft. Maybe another video diving into that?

The 'auto Speedbrake' real-world function deploys the ground spoilers when the thrust reversers are selected and the aircraft is on the ground. So when I drop it below the detents and pull the levers I activate the reverse thrusters and can then increase throttle with those in place. However, it seems to have some issues and I don't know if it's a bug or my binding. I have the exact same hardware. When starting in the CJ4 twin jet, the Bravo throttles (throttle 1 axis, throttle 2 axis) move as expected when mapped to their axes, but the N2 engines 1 and 2 speed moves to 100% and stays there. Looked for other mappings and haven't found the cause. TOGA switch is not mapped, so that's not it.

@@1976husky I’m having this problem too. I tried to fly the Draco X and the throttle (N1) go straight to 100% and there’s nothing I can do to move it out of that. I even turned off all of my peripherals and just use my mouse, and while the throttle lever visually moves, it stays stuck at 100%

@@RMAG solved for me.... on my Bravo the left mode rotor was set to IAS and that was the problem. It's a bug. Should only matter if the autopilot was active. I start now with that rotor anywhere but on IAS. Also when cold and dark with that rotor on IAS I was getting this audible 'bong'. Anyway, fixed now.

What is the difference between a complex single and basic single engine and how can we find what is which in msfs 2024? Simple question I know. But I think the Cessna 172 is basic single?
@RMAG28 күн бұрын
@@ctjeff68 complex aircraft typically have a variable pitch prop and/or retractable gear. So in the context of of my profiles it would be an aircraft that has a blue prop lever. A C-172 is basic. A Bonanza G36 is complex.

Thank you for this video😃 Is it possible to make a video how to set up a turbo prop with beta range and reversere. And also maybe explane how to get my lights up in my honeycomb bravo 🤔😊
@RMAG25 күн бұрын
@@airmiccy turboprops use the Complex Twin profile. Power is throttle, propeller is propeller, and mixture is condition levers. Throttle detent is bound to throttle decrease, which will move power lever into beta. Several of the turboprops have a fixed amount of reverse that it automatically goes to in beta however, the Cessna caravan only goes into beta and then you’ll have to use the mouse to move the throttle back further because it has a variable amount of reverse throttle. Regarding the lights, we need honeycomb to come out with a new driver.

If you wish to use one throttle lever per wing effectively simply use the same presets for each engine per side. I tend to cheat with the DA62 and have bound both engines to one throttle lever. Works well with no troubles. Caveat this was with FS2020. I am still fighting the 2024 configuration with varying amounts of success or disaster !

Do you have multiple peripherals? Like a HOTAS and the Bravo? They will conflict with each other. Turn the Bravo to “None” if using a HOTAS.

I'm a professional pilot and regularly use my sim for training so when I bought this thing I thought it was one of the best simulator TQs on the market. But using a high spec PC and Win 11 for quite awhile and after several FS 2020 and Win updates, I can no longer get the lights to function at all. I have tried every suggestion off every simulator forum off the internet and still no joy. I have asked for technical support from the manufacturer and get nothing but an automated message confirming receipt of my request. So, I have now lost patience with this and removed it from my system. I can honestly say, the mechanical features are fantastic however, without the lights, on a serious sim like mine, it's worthless!
