Nice landing. I wish the button selection was a little slower for those who are just starting to learn ILS landing on the A310. The A320 is more up to date has been easier for me to learn.

Came here to see if you also need so much drag to get the speed down during descent and approach. In my first attempt I was like 3000 ft to high above the glide slope because I put too much trust in the plane to manage the descent better, so I didnt use the spoilers at first.. I think these older jets like A310 or B767s Vnav Computers were not as sophisticated as the A320 or other modern airliners. If you dont use spoilers you will always be too fast I guess. Also the Lnav mode isnt as exact as the A320 because he is overshooting waypoints and needs much time to adjust to the flight path after tight curves etc. But I guess thats part of the game when flying older airliners. I used to fly the 767 in Xplane11 and it was an amazing aircraft and the A310 is the Airbus equivalent of it. I like this mix of glass cockpit meets old fashioned cockpit.

How were you able to keep the autothrottle on all the way down without the airplane pitching up dramatically? When I have tried this it just climbs uncontrollably, I disengage the autothrottle at like 100 ft above. I'm on xbox btw, so idk how different the Sims are in comparison.

Only when on an ILS approach will the autothrottle disengage automatically

Hi, just would like to ask how did you get the custom wing view?

The trick is you need to firstly setup a custom view then edit the camera.cfg to place your created view outside the aircraft (changing the X coordinate value), then you can choose all the views

I have that problem too. I tune the frequency and course of the ILS properly, I see the indicators on the PFD, but it just doesn't bother capturing.

How do you get those custom views in MSFS? An utility?

When I go direct to an approach fix my plane wants to go there and then turn left for some reason. Idk why 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@CaptainABI figured it out. It only does that if I set fmc to an ILS approach. So in that case I should engage approach mode as soon as I can.

Make sure you entered your ILS frequency and course

Search up some charts online

I think approach frequencies can be found using the vfr map in msfs. Goto search bar within the vfr map and put in the airport ICAO that you are flying to. There is a whole list of information that drops down. Im sure i saw appraoch frequencies in there. Im not 100% thats what youre looking for but it only takes a few seconds to try it.
