I found this, because I typed in the Searchbar: Microsoft flight Simulator 2020 Boeing 747 London Houston. I was searching for the longest flight that I took. London to Houston Texas. I find this really cool. Big commercial Airliner, long flight, real time. What also would be cool, London to one of these places: Manila, Davao, Melbourne, Tokyo, or the longest flight from London that exists in real life. Oh I just saw, editing removes the heart. Another thing learned. I watched the whole video now. good job.

Did a flight from IAD to LHR today on the 747. My patience wore thin and manually flew because of the trim level and cruising speed autopilot insisted on. Was fun. Took a while but definitely an experience when you do final approach at night!

@@richardswede For a minority of players it crashes all the time for no obvious reason. It's the same thing that causes the crash, but no-one has been figure out what exactly that is. It doesn't seem to be hardware related since people with all kinds of configurations have the same problem, and I have checked absolutely everything possible on my computer. I must've spent 20 hours eliminating possible causes, and it seems to be an unknown software issue.

@@Dellerss I understand your frustration, but it can't be the Game otherwise no one would be able to play, so on that assumption, it sounds like a conflict that you have (And a few others) on your PC that does not like the game code. have you tired it on a Vanilla build of win 10? You could setup a Virtual PC just to test, not play? That would/should tell you that the game is fine and there is something in the software you have on your current game PC that bulks the game code and causes crashes. Have you interrogated the Windows log files? That might show the culprit software at the time of the crash? If not, then i guess it is send log files to MSFS Support. Hope you get to the bottom of these crashes my fried, it is truly a great game(Nay not Game, but Sim!), and the likes of Drawyah's videos make it really really exciting for us Noobs.

@@richardswede Yeah, the log files show the same exception code for a lot of people. I've done more than I can mention, including reinstalling different versions of Windows 10, messing with the pagefile, extensive stability testing of hardware, disabling and removing hardware and peripherals and exiting possibly conflicting software. I have sent it to support, and hope that they'll be able to figure it out.

In order to get the V/S system to work, you have to click the button twice, making sure the pink square appears on the speed indicator, then you can adjust it.

I have terrible trouble with auto trim on this aircraft, at cruise altitude the plane bobs along in the air like a ship on the ocean, up and down - the passengers would be sea sick! There is no way to manual trim either when auto-pilot is in use, any advise? Great video by the way 👌👍😁

There is manual trim, I used it to stabilise the aircraft when it started rocking.

Why did you add fuel to the plane at 2:06:00 ? You don't need to do that with the fuel fix mod. Simbrief now gives the accurate ammount of fuel for the flight.

Correct fuelburn is one thing, working fuel pumps is another. The 747 in MSFS doesn't like to use the center tank.

@@Drawyah It does use the center tank. It doesn't like to use the reserve or stabilizer tanks. What I do is empty those 3 tanks and then set the fuel in the other 5 until it reads the amount i need. When thats done, ill put fuel back into the reserve and stabilizer tanks, that way the COG isn't messed up.

Never had a problem with the 747 in fsx and xplane but in FS2020 im having a lot of trouble with the autopilot. The plane goes up and down like a yoyo and doesnt do what you input into the controls. What an i doing wrong here can anyone help?

Adjust the trim manually, counter what the aircraft is doing. The bobbing is because the autopilot is too harsh on the trim. You can mitigate it with a bit of manual movement.

Another great vid Drawyah, one that i am doing right as i type this, although Simbrief has me on a more southerly route across the pond. One small point is that you mentioned during your brilliant numerous videos certain mods that you have applied, in this video you mentioned 2, the fuel fix for the 747 & the 'Wing Flexing' mod for the 747? whilst a bit of searching on google found the fuel fix, i cannot find the wing mod/upgrade, can you put in the links for the mods you mention in all your vids please? (Inc the wing for the 747 ) Huge thanks and keep em coming. (PS, i did run out of fuel 2/3's of the way across the pond, and had a complete systems failure, i used the 'CHEAT' and managed to start the APU, via Battery, then restart all 4 engines...PHEWW! Good job i was not running PAX as my passenger score would be 10%).

I think if you set the wing view in showcase mode, then press insert to change back to cockpit mode, toggle insert again and it should remember that view. So now you have the VC and insert will toggle wing view

I run out of fuel on this trip? Idk what I'm doing wrong I cruise at 42k feet at 300knots , I think I spend a lot of fuel on thrust climbing since AP is buggy as hell

300ktas? You should be following mach speeds at cruise. Sounds to me you're only doing Mach 0.45 when most aircraft will cruise around 0.78-0.8, meaning you're going too slow.

Mach .9 is easy to do. 41k feet. Forget going higher burns more on this flight. Also the reserve tanks are buggy you won't make it if you have to use them.

PACX for me has the much better UI and User Experience. SLC limits you to the pilots names and set crew samples while PACX is a lot more generic, a lot more freedom to choose which airline you fly with. The end of flight report and sharing too is a nice little extra.

Pretty much. If the aircraft is trimmed and autopilot has corrected, you're basically not touching the stick until flare.

Not sure, I'm quite happy with PACX. Self Loading Cargo does good in some respects when it comes to passenger information, but falls back where you cannot speak to your passengers and crew in the same way or are stick with the same few sound samples. Perhaps if I owned a copy I'd use it.

what's the secret to keep from oscillating up and down in autopilot in the 747-8? I have no trouble with the airbus but most of the times I've tried a flight with the 747 I've found the autopilot careening up and down over and over again at cruising altitude.

Minor manual trim adjustments. The reason the aircraft oscillates is because autotrim is too harsh, so when the aircraft pitches up I'll manually trim down and and vice versa when the aircraft pitches down. Eventually you'll keep it within 100fpm of one way.
