Excellent. I've been looking for a good tutorial on how to make objects in Blender for MSFS. Thank you for this.

Hi Federico, really nice videos. Which version of Blender do you recommend or it's needed?
@MSFS-SDK-TUTORIALS2 жыл бұрын
I'm using 2.93, wich Is the long term support If you feel the Need to use 3.0 Is fine too (3.0 has asset browser that could be handy) the exporter Will work as well, but won't go any higher than that!

Hi Federico. Thank you for your videos, very helpful. I have an issue. I have been building an airport but without updating any software (blender and MSFS toolkit} I suddenly not able to add any more objects to the existing ModelLib list. Are you able to assist on this issue that others are also experiencing. Thank you and keep up with the good work.

Hi Joe, I don't experience any issue to date about new objects, i'm in touch with a bunch of other Devs and they are ok too, maybe if you don't mind sharing your project we could check what Is not working Mail federico.pinotti@hotmail.it Discord discord.gg/Yz6ESSwpKN

awesome tutorials! I have been watching a bunch of tutorials but still can't get my EFTP terminal to load into MFS2020. I have been trying to do this for a full week now with no luck and following every single thing step by step and it still wont work. I even downloaded the same version of blender, mfs converter and now asobos new extension for blender, nothing works. It seems like my model is not being loaded into MFS2020 at all. Let me know if you have any ideas! thank you!

Usually model that doesn't compile have bad geometry, before exporting clean up your model from loose edge/vertex faces Before exporting, in Blender go to object mode, select all, go to edit mode, and clean your geometry via Mesh/cleanup, delete loose and also degenerate dissolve If you don't mind you can send me your .blend and will have a look where the issue is federico.pinotti@hotmail.it

Hey Federico, have you ever textured a large object? Something like a large sidewalk that would show texture repetition? If so, how did you handle that visual repetition?
@MSFS-SDK-TUTORIALS2 жыл бұрын
Yeah i did If you use a good pbr material or a seamless texture, you Will not see so much repetition. Avoid in any case scaling It to much, a good idea Is adding a bit more geometry , so you can move and rotate your UV Then you can use decals like smudge, dirt every now and then to add an extra bit of realism (i Will cover this topic at a later stage) Last (and Better option) Is a proper unwrap, bake to bigger Images and Paint with substance painter. (For most Project Is not really needed)

My sidewalk is one piece with a 4k texture. However, to get the detail size correct, I had to scale the UVs quite a bit which caused pretty bad repetition. Maybe I'll have to cut it apart as you suggest. I do have substance painter and designer. Looking forward to your video.

@@rhammond174 It Is a bit complicated ti discuss on YT, maybe you can join my discord and have a chat there discord.gg/ZeRCczwfQK Anyways, basically you should consider the true size of your texture, usually materials are representing a 2x2 meters area, so for a sidewalk a 4k texture Is a crazy high resolution, thats like 20pixel per centimeter!
