In today’s video I want to show you my first look in VR using Sim Update 11 and the 40th Anniversary Edition as well as check out how the sim is running using the latest Nvidia game ready driver version 526.86, and I must say it's good news on all fronts!
So far I have been experiencing a similar performance in VR compared to pre update 11 using my HP Reverb G2. It is generally running smoothly and there is good clarity both inside and outside of the cockpit when using my latest VR settings which can be found via the link above. So I recommend checking that out as none of my settings have changed in the sim or in my Nvidia control panel.

Love the new Gimbal helicopter it's a blast to fly and you have to stay in the green which is an added element in flying. It feels like your really flying with my motion sim.

I think that asobo/microsoft can be proud of this update, I was very worried that the beta testing was too short to be reliable. It seems this worry was an over reaction thankfully!!!!!! I havent had a lot of time to test it but also have not heard any screams of dismay either. You beauty!!!!!!! Thanks again Pie great as usual.

I am hugely happy to have official gliders and helis, which I've tried. Also had a couple of circuits in the DC3 which seems a delightful old bus. Not had time to try the rest yet but couldn't resist the Flying Iron Spitfire as it's on sale!

I haven't played MSFS in a few months. It wasn't running well on my system. Seems like it's gone down hill in some ways overall. So I must be behind on some of the settings and new things that people are doing.

Yo Chris. Tried the update this morning as well also with the new nVidia driver. Smooth performance as you said. I think I need to get my hotas stick out of the greas as well. Flying the helicopters with the the Alhpa Yoke is no joke :P There is too much force required to fly straight out with a helicopter on this yoke. Other than that very great, I like the helicopters. Tried briefly the gliders but looks like I need some lessons there LOL There is one thing I noticed. I was parked on one of the big ramps on the Rotterdam Airport in the study model airliner and the audio is completely screwed up for some reason. Hearing jet sound when nothing is around and in and outside of the cockpit is it either deafening or completely silent. Something is wrong with that. Will try some more tomorrow Cheers m8

ok crazy question how do you move the helicopter forward and control the height im using the airbus stick do you push forward on stick to move forward can you give me basic controls forward up and down and backwards and speed

I SO need a new GPU. My RTX 2070 Super is just not capable of giving clarity and decent frames at the same time. TAA looks the best, but absconds with many of my frames, whereas DLSS steals those frames back from TAA but looks like someone has smeared melted butter on my Quest 2 lenses. Oh and for whatever reason, OpenXR Toolkit constantly tells me in game that I'm CPU bound with a Ryzen 7 5800X. I'm on the latest nvidia driver, but try as I might, I just can't dial in good settings. I wish I had the dollars for an RTX 4090, but nvidia just keeps pricing themselves out of most peoples reach (It was pure insanity when the highest end GPU was $600). I sure hope the RX 7000 line from AMD coming out gives unusually high performance in MSFS or I'll probably have to roll the dice on a used card and hope it doesn't die on me.

Ok thanks for those thoughts. Unfortunately I’ve had a terrible VR experience in SU11 with the DHC 2 Beaver. Of my 800 hours in FS 2020, I have over 500 hrs in VR with the last 90 hours in the Milviz C310R all using my Reverb G2 with fantastic smooth performance. I never bother about FPS counts as long as the experience is smooth. Just tried the Beaver and after about 5 minutes of VR sim time the frames become choppy with almost what seems like single digit FPS. I’m about to load the C310R back up and try again once I have reconfigured my Honeycomb Throttle console. I’m really bummed about this. Wish me luck.

I have had bad VR performance in SU11 as well. It seemed to take a step backwards for me.

@@billbaggins1688 I tried again this morning with the Milviz C310R that worked flawlessly for the last 90 hrs in the sim, same crappy result. Starts ok but after 4 - 5 minutes the sim starts stuttering, then blue flashes followed by single digit frames. Interestingly I headed out to sea then after about 3 - 5 nm out to sea, my normal frame rate came back. Headed back into land near Inverness Scotland frames started to tank as I crossed the coast. I’m going to try another location in the morning. I’m really disappointed.

hey buddy just wanting to know what is your openxr render scale settings are you at 100% and 100% in sim settings im having issues going in and out of vr fps getting stuck very low fps and bad stuttering in headset i have to turn of power button on reverb g2 sometimes becuase it is unplayable. and are you using open xrtoolkit? i have sim setting at TAA at 100% render scale and game mode off thanks for any info. even wondering if it could be the reverb g2 headset

Unfortunately my MSFS has died after the update! I had it running great in SU10 as well! Even though I'm signed into XBox Live and MSFS syncs my data, I then can't connect to the servers in game. When I did attempt to fly, the experience is horrific with glitching and the VR (Quest 2) view shaking around. Currently reinstalling so hopefully that fixes it.

won't give me the option for DLSS and I currently have a 3080ti. I've tried everything to get DLSS going but no luck. if anyone else is having the same issue and you find a solution please let me know
