MSFS2024 First Impressions!

At 39:50 your altitude is off because of your altimeter setting. It's showing 948 hPa but it probably should've been closer to about 1013 (standard pressure) 😄 Update: Earlier in the video it shows you're at ~650ft (on the ground) with an altimeter of 29.92inHg (1013hPa). ENBR has an elevation of ~170ft. This means that moment you should've had an altimeter setting of ~29.44inHg (996hPa). I didn't watch the entire video but I guess your B key might've been unassigend 😄

Great video! I got to try the sim out for a grand total of 1hr out of the total 12 Steam says I have. I only have a 3070 graphics card, and it makes it so hot even with stuff turned down to medium. The room I'm in was so toasty even with fans on. Asked for a refund today. MSFS 2020 doesn't cook my computer thank goodness. I'll keep a watch on it and maybe when I upgrade my computer, GPU and get a case with better airflow I'll reconsider and buy again. Edit: I look forward to seeing previews during your flights!

I also have the 3070 and the performance was terrible, especially on the walk around on medium-high settings. Luckily I'll be upgrading to the 4070S soon

Thank you for your calm considered appraisal of the new sim. There has been so much hysteria in the last 24 hours. There will be bugs to start but it will be a wonderful sim in the end.

How’s it run on you AMD machine? Does it get very hot? Considering an AMD build but I’ve been with intel so long, lol.

@@lotharen Performance has been great so far! I think the dynamic limiter (or whatever it’s called) is working well. Btw I was on Intel for 15 yrs or so when I decided to go for AMD. No regrets. But I read something recently re: X3D CPUs no longer being super-beneficial for 2024. It’s early days though!

i have same CPU, GPU, and 64GB RAM. Good to see performance is good. Imma wait though this sim is too messy regarding the servers. Either Microsoft adds more allocation or waits for player numbers to decrease

Game looks alright. Should have been an update instead. Not worth 80$. Ai graphics is the future for sure. Such little change in 4 years.
