Clearly and accurately described. Very helpful to see what has to be done before we actually do it ourselves. Many thanks!

Excellent Video! Thank you for the clear explanations! I have one question though, I completed the migration successfully but the FRS service did not get stopped and disabled automatically as shown in your video. I verified the migration was successful as you did in the video by verifying the new SYSVOL_DFSR folder was created and the "net share" output shows the correct path to the new SYSVOL_DFSR folder. Can I safely stop/disable that service manually? Should I restart the server and check again? or did I do something wrong?
@MSFTWebCastАй бұрын
Yes, you can also stop and disable the FRS service manually.

It would be nice to update this video about the fact, that after this migration will be done, old DC controllers will not have Staging configured (dfs management snapin, membership, stanging tab, path empty). Do you have any insights regarding this issue? MS mentions nothing about this, only that staging folders are not copied to new location.

@MSFTWebCast - I have a question. In the final state (3) the SYSVOL Folder name is SYSVOL_DFSR and the original folder was deleted. Is there a way after to rename the folder with no any impact? It is possible?
@andreylearns3 ай бұрын
What if you only have 1 DC? Can you still do this process?

Since there are 4 states, how come and state zero is being bypassed?
@MSFTWebCast8 ай бұрын
State 0 is for "Start". When you initiate this state, FRS will replicate the SYSVOL folder among all the domain controllers. But we are assuming domain controllers are replicating with each other successfully, if they are not then you can not start the migration process. Thats why we starts with State 1 (Prepared).
