Hi, i think u might not require to upsate the BIOS in new batches. Make sure you take a close look at the box, which will mention this

i tryed flash it earler with flash drive scan disk notthing bought from walmart waiting for it update flash button so left it alone for 3 hours and nothing fan did not come on at all no lights on board except bios flash button was still flashing so i changed to differnet flash dirve ativa and that one worked fan did not come on it stoped flashing so with me leaving board on for 3 hours waiting is the board ok or should i return it thank you

Nice video. Quickly answered my question by saying "doesnt support 5000 out of the box". Mine says it does support 5000 on box, so I'm assuming I don't need to flash. Fingers crossed!!

Thanks, when i built my PC ryzen 5000 was just new so many existing platforms didnt support it. Newer versions of motherboard should have new BIOS versions which should make it compatible out of the box. Hope it boots normally for you, if not you can just take out the CPU and try flashing new BIOS as mentioned in the steps 😊

If you tried this method it is possible that your motherboard doesn't have usb flash function. If your EZ Debug LED CPU light is competely white then it is possible either an issue with CPU or most likely CPU is not supported by BIOS

If you already have a running system you can update BIOS very easily, if you are following these steps you can take the latest one, just make sure it is stable and not the BETA version. If you take the latest one you should be fine

You can get the latest stable update available on MSI website i mentioned in the video. But for Ryzen 5 3400 even if you dont upgrade the BIOS its fine u can setup ur PC and do it in normal way also

If you follow the method mentioned in this video you do not need any CPU for BIOS update, the USB BIOS Flash Function can run without any CPU, just make sure you are repeating steps correctly

I am not sure about the latest steps these steps are couple of years old... but i think if u have the same board it might already be upgraded with the bios which has support for 5000 series

If the board box mentions that it is compatible with 5000 series out of the box no need to do these steps. If it is not mentioned and If you have same board, you can use these steps. Please make sure you are using a stable BIOS version and please make sure you dont have a power outage.

Hello! I currently have a MSI B550 gaming motherboard with a Ryzen 5 3600 in it. I do plan on getting a Ryzen 5000 series CPU in the future. Is it safe to update my bios and have it ready for when I do get a CPU to install at a later date?

Hi! Since you already have a compatible CPU (3600), you can just update the BIOS to the latest stable one from your manufacturer's website and you should be good to just swap the CPU with Ryzen 5000 series. Just make sure you have a UPS and you don't experience a power loss during upgrade!

When i Tried i just connected the powersupply, i didnt have any CPU, GPU, RAM or Storage mounted onto the board. I would suggest to do the same for you as well.

There’s 2 options after i extracted the file. BiosEenamer.exe and “TUF-GAMING-B550-PLUS-ASUS-3405.CAP”. Which one do i rename

@@ZuzGaming yeah i did. I found the right one and renamed it and everything but when i plug it into the flash bios port and press the button it doesn’t start flashing or anything
