I am just giving some constructive feedback so dont take it as hate. Almost all of the review went in describing the specifications which most people can google anyway. Its not that you shouldn't show specifications, just the important ones such as the graphic card, processor, ram, etc. And as it is a gaming laptop review, most people, in my opinion, care mostly about the graphic performance of the laptop of which you talked about very little, just want you to extend that section. What i liked about your review is that you explained the functioning of the keyboard in quite detailed manner but seriously, that much is not needed. Just talk about the quality of keys, the overall typing experience and the placement of some special keys which varies widely among laptops, just like way you talked about the placement of windows key. In short, keep the keyboard section a little compact. And then talk about real life battery performance which you did, but it was too short to come to any conclusion about the battery life. Talk about the screen-on time in different scenarios such as playing games, watching movies or doing some web browsing. Make that section a little bit bigger. I DONT WANT YOU TO CONFORM TO EVERY PART THAT I SAID OR EVEN READ WHAT I JUST WROTE. It is my opinion about your review so you can take it or not even care about it.

I'd be amazed if this laptop didn't have at least 1 M.2 slot. My Apache 276 has 3 M.2 slots in addition to the 2.5 bay. How come almost zero reviewers ever mention M.2? It's almost critical information, especially for users who create content. They'll want more than just a single 2.5 storage bay. Software on the boot SSD, data on another storage drive.

this is a very poorly planned out gaming laptop review. 10 minutes are spent discussing things that are absolutely redundant for a gaming laptop, a cutscenefrom Tomb Raider has been prerendered and has nothing to do with the graphic card quality..ugh....yeah what? if you are reviewing a gaming laptop, focus on that - THE GAMES - how does it run them? what are the challenges? are there any glitches, overheats, is it loud when running games? this whole video sounds like a super long promotion for your donation button and those prints you are selling.

AnTREXon gaming I thought it was good. I have the MSI GE60 which is similar from 2014. If you are interested in more in dept reviews then there are tons of others out there. For pure hardware and more casual users like me who don´t game a ton of other games, I thought this was really good.

well a person buying a gaming laptop is interested in how this will play games. I dont see the reason to buy this just for the appearance or to be a casual gamer. There are plenty of non gaming devices that can do that. GE60 and a few other laptops are essentially desktop replacements and are meant to be pushed to the limit, which this reviewer didn't mention at all. Luckily there are other better ones out there

AnTREXon gaming if you are a gamer you will know where to look to find your review. No one will only watch one video about the computer. I bought mine knowing it could run my game in the highest setting with ease and a few other stuff too. I bought mine for future games that might come out or video editing. This tells me about the hardware and appearance which is extremely important for me. For graphic card stuff and other stuff yes you need to check that out somewhere else. For a short good overall view I though this is just perfect. Your best option will always be to look for a few reviews or articles about specific stuff to make sure. This is just one of them.

Leon yes, but she doesn't really talk about the appearance as much as just goes through a lot of unnecessary details. She never shows the inside, never talks about what other slots are available (e.g. mSATA/m.2) never even mentions the upgradability. The biggest fail for me though is the fact that instead of running the TOMB RAIDER BENCHMARK which is what a normal reviewer would do, she actually just used a cutscene that was prerendered that doesnt actually show anything. So all in all, I think it was pretty poor and way too long for what she tried to cover.

AnTREXon gaming most people have no clue what msata is. Even though my msi is 1 year old the model is pretty much the same except the internal parts and some modification of the keyboard. What you think is a must in a video might not be what everyone else think. There a reviewers out there who talk in-depth of a laptop but for very fast and quick over view review this is it. MSI laptops are very easy to upgrade memory or hard drive.I´ve had mine for a few weeks and so far it never runs hot. But the fan is loud and you will probably need headphones when gaming. Also the touchpad is a nightmare for me because i´ve had a macbook for 4-5 yeras. Its pretty horrible.

Less than a 2 second review on the Trackpad. No mention that it has buttons and how they feel. One of the most important thing is that a laptop is on the go and the trackpad is the way you will use it on the go. Few laptops have buttons anymore and I think that is a pretty important feature to just ignore.

the dimensions and weight of the laptop are wrong, MSI put the dimensions of the GE72 on their website as the GE62, if you look at the ge62 with the 970m, they have updated it with the correct dimensions and weight of the ge62

Nice unboxing/review indeed! ^-^ Clear and plausible! I think 12:36 is a nice limit. My only complain is that I wish you showed the inside of the pc. I think It's a great laptop, but don't quite understand why you didn't review the GE62 Apache Pro instead, since the Pro has 970m that gains a lot more fps than 965m, has an SSD and only cost 200$ more at amazon. I see the Apache was 2299$ and as far as I remember the Pro was 1499$ at the time of this review at amazon. Apache are currently at 1149$ and the Pro is currently at 1349$ at amazon. Anyways since you made a review of the Apache would you like to review the Pro? Or maybe the new 5700HQ 16gb ram version? ^-^ (It cost 250$ more than the older Haswell version at amazon.)

Hey Joanne, i have a small question about this laptop. :) I bought this laptop for both school work and also play, since the reviews and msi all say that this laptop boasts around six hours of battery life for text editing and such. However, when I am actually using it, it gives me only three hours of battery life for only things like text editing. I think that it's because i haven't switched over to the integrated graphics, since League still gets 30 fps on max settings (Auto capped), which is the same preformance I got on my old desktop. However, msi's website tells me that it is a smart switch between the integrated gpu and the gtx 965. Can you help me a bit on this? Thanks! >.< Hope you reply!

Only problem with the review is when you showed off Tomb Raider. All you showed was a pre rendered cut scene not the actual gameplay so we dont get a feel for how the laptop actually runs the game. Other then that pretty good review.

Mhm, it does. *early response btw*. it takes usually about 30 minutes in total to remove all the bloatware. but when you're done it runs perfectly!

Nope! I don't own a laptop like this but a friend of mine shared his experience. They just take a lot of startup time and CPU usage. I don't really recommend MSI laptops, I myself am searching for a laptop that looks great and has an Intel Core i7 and GTX 970M. The reason to this is because MSI laptops are known for having driver problems, they have bloatware, and the customer service isn't that great either. Personally I recommend you get one of these brands: • ASUS • ACER • Lenovo • Dell / Alienware. I'm personally going to probably get an ASUS laptop, I'll keep you updated with the upcoming day.

I got this laptop recently, but it's specs are completely different, despite the exact model number. - i7 5700HQ (as opposed to the older 4702hq) - 16GB RAM (as opposed to 8GB) - 240GB M2 SSD and 1TB hard drive (as opposed to just 1TB) - 1920x1080 IPS panel (as opposed to TN). The rest is all the same, though. One thing that I noted with this machine is that its a little "flexy" and doesn't feel solid (I actually worry about travelling with it as a consequence). Performance is great, and the GTX965 is able to cope with pretty much anything you throw at it. My batter life, however, is nowhere near the 6 hours claimed. At best, can push it near 4 hours, but definitely not the "worry free" 6 hours claimed by MSI.

Thanks for looking over this laptop, I was seriously considering purchasing but now I am not so sure after looking at the keyboard design. For me, it's terribly designed. It's missing a few buttons that I use regularly such as the Menu button, multi-media controls (play/pause, next etc.). Also, what is up with 2 backslash keys with one being absolutely huge (not everyone is a programmer, you know)? And at the cost of the Enter key's size, a bigger Enter key is better. Also, terrible font choice. Dear Steelseries/ MSI, choose a font more suitable for a keyboard rather than one for a Spider-man movie title.

They are wrong, it´s an IPS panel: there is no TN panel in the world with such viewing angles, even the newer and better ones. If you search for reviews you will see that all of them talk about the IPS panel. I have a GE62 6QD and it´s also an IPS panel. MSI talks about "IPS level" because they could also integrate PLS or VA panels if IPS are not available. Those are much closer to an IPS panel than to a TN panel.

I bought one of these and I was wondering how long the battery should last when watching a movie mine goes out at about 2 hours of a movie is that to be expected?

An eDP wide angle screen is an IPS-type screen. IPS = In Plane Switching, technology owned by LG. They're all different types of wide viewing angle technology. But since IPS was the first, people tend to refer to all IPS-type panels as just "IPS". My 2016 Apache Pro and this one too I beleive has the wide angle eDP screen which essentially IS an IPS screen, just to clarify. The new GE62 (the one I have) has a Gtx 960m, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and the Skylake 6700hq i7 processor. The difference between the 965m and 960 is marginal at best and if you get the new Apache you'll get a slightly better processor and DDR4 RAM which has faster bandwidth it will play games just the same if not "slightly" better as the version in this review. Also has a 1TB 7200 RPM HDD and a 256GB SSD. I have yet to find a game that I cannot play smoothly on this laptop, even Crysis 3 and the best part is I actually stream on Twitch occasionally with this laptop and the experience is great, with the xSplit caster you can see the chat and run your facecam while playing the game all on a single screen without it being crazy cluttered. Yes, you can play Witcher 3, Doom, Minecraft, CS:GO, Rise of The Tomb Raider, Crysis, GTA V smoothly. tl;dr, it really is a great laptop.

hi i am looking for a gaming pc for mij next school ( i am gona be making games mostly with gamemaker and mayby a bit of unity too ) so right now i am looking for a gaming pc with a budget of 1200 and i am looking at the MSI Gaming Series GE62 as one of mij best choices right now but i am not 100% sure about it beacus there is a also the MSI Gaming Series GE72 version which is a bit a bigger 17,3 inch and it has more ssd but it in turn is also a bit heavyer and since i need tot take the train to school i need it to not be to heavy for me to carry around daily would you recommend the MSI Gaming Series GE62 to me as a pc to make and study games on? or do you have a better recommendation if so please tell me about it thx :3
