thank you again xoticpc. i tested this laptop on battlefield 3 and i can play it on ulta at 1366x768 60hz. the lowest fps was 50 fps highes 63 fps. temp is at 76 C at graphics card and cpu is 63C so this is an amazing laptop thank you and i wish you well with your company and your reviews i am so happy that i found out about this company. again THANK YOU!!!

There is an external button for popping out the optical drive. I have the laptop and I just tested it out after inspecting the drive. There is a button on the rightish side

I just bought an MSI GE 60, which "does" have a eject button for the dvd driver.

Because gold is a soft metal, it will mold around the other party of the port. That way it will provide more surface contact, and reduces risks of false contacts.

Thank you so much xoticpc. thanks to this review you helped me to get a laptop which is awesome for its price. its the best computer i have put my hands on. i think its worth more than that price. its a great product. the heat is great too. the screen is so clear that my 38 inch full hd display cannot be compared to this 17.3 inch laptop screen. so i would recommend this laptop to everybody and if you want a more gaming laptop go with the MSi GT70. But this is a great laptop for its price. :D ;)

You mentioned that there are only 2 RAM-slots on the GE70 and the GE60, but aren't there 4 RAM slots with 2 on the bottom and 2 under the keyboard, on the top of the motherboard, like lamost every other laptop that MSI developed in the last couple of years?

Are you sure the gold plated jacks help connectivity/conductivity? I read somewhere that silver si better, but gold doesn't corrode.

i got a GE 60 with GTX 660M and so far it's doing superb in running most games (COD, Sniper Elite, Batman, Alan Wake) in 1080p ultra/max setting...I would definitely recommend to those who r interested in getting either a GE 60 or GE 70 to go with the GTX graphic card and also possibly upgrade the hdd to ssd if u hav the budget as it will improve ur overall laptop significantly...

i thought the review was kinda odd because they favored the keyboard in an earlier review of gt60, and it's pretty much the same keyboard they use for the whole gaming range, sans the backlit feature....can someone confirm this?

Oh, just note that, at 6:55 you mention that it's nice to have an eject button on the drive. I couldn't disagree more, you end up opening the drive unintentionally when moving the laptop around, which can damage it. Most of the time nobody uses it, so, people end up frustrated, or end up installing a drive locker utility to prevent this from happening. Keep that in mind, it's not THAT great to have on button on the side ;) Nice vid, even if I'm 1,5 years late :P

Im gonna buy a laptop in a few hours. And i have one question. How does this laptop handle hours of gaming? or 3D modeling? Like around 7 hours straight. Because i have a hard time believing that this laptop wont overheat. Its thin and has only one fan compared to the MSI GT60 and GT70 models.

Yes. Runs BF3 nicely at high resolutions, Arma 2 / DayZ seems to work well, Fifa 12 and the new NBA game run smoothly, Sleeping Dogs works good, Mount and Blade is solid, so overall yes it's decent! The only game I'm struggling with is Natural Selection 2... have to run it at 800 x 600 or around that resolution or the fps is awful...

hey I have this laptop, and it performs great, but how do they manage to keep the turbo mode on permanently in this review? not sure if he says as I don't have volume on at work! But its ticking me off because although the turbo mode is automatic, it doesn't automatically kick in for the less demanding games like Torchlight 2 or F1 2012, and on max graphics on F1 I'd like it too, is there a manual way to turn the turbo on? auto is cool, but i'd like the control! top laptop though 9/10
