Yes indeed just max out the ram to 32gb especially if you use VST

@@6xa57 I would at least put 16gb just to be safe. You can always upgrade it to 32 later. Try it with 8gb let me know how it works out.

It's still a good machine due to the ability to upgrade. My Only issue now is I wish it was i7.

Also I forgot to mention the MSI Modern has backlit keys which didn't seem important until I realized I couldn't type at night with the dell inspiron 15.

Yes you use it for engineering programs just max the ram out to 32 gigs

Will video editing be manageable on that? It's specs isn't that good for editing but I'm a student and I'm looking for an average all rounder laptop for school work and editing.

If you upgrade your ram to at least 16 gigs you'll be fine. Especially if you max out to 32GB.

I have the a5m with amd 5500u and the only thing that I do not like on this laptop is the screen. it is really horrible. even at 1080p the screen and video playback looks blurry like a 480p screen or recording. it has the best features to be an upgradable laptop, 2 RAM slots, 2 M2 storage slots, but screenwise it is horrible. some say amd integrated video cards make the colors look dull and are way worse than intel integrated video cards, I do not know if that is true I have also a hp laptop with intel i3 7100u and the screen on that one is sharper even if it`s old...

I’m not a fan of AMD I know people love the Ryzen chips but I prefer intel.

Yes I have windows 11 on my machine. Runs good but seems like battery life isn’t the same like windows 10.

Have you tried adjusting settings in the Intel HD graphics Control panel? It has different profiles like enhance video colors and darken video brighten video.

Is there any way to take out the cpu and upgrade that? I did expand my memory to 16g as well as throw another 512 gig nvme in too. I’d say the weakest point of this laptop is the integrated graphics, at the very least I’d like to upgrade my cpu to a better one with better integrated graphics

I'm not sure upgrading the cpu is possible. Im guessing you would install a ryzen 9 chip?

@@charleeeugene yeah, since theres nowhere to put vram i would have to find a somewhat higher end chipset with integrated graphics. i was short on cash a while back and was tired of what i had, found this and it was a great and cheap option, especially after i upgraded it. i don't use it for creation but rather light gaming and surfing. i do mess with VMs sometimes but thats about it for this. great computer for the price, just want something even a little more beefier on the graphics end lol

What does your full charge capacity look like? Try running the battery report

It's funny you bring that up since I've updated to windows 11 the battery doesn't perform like before. Do you have software that runs that info?

I could never get the Apple airpods to connect to this laptop. They disconnect after 10 seconds or so when initially connecting. The laptop is brand new im not sure whats going on.
