Another great video thank you! Reminds me of a childhood holiday in Morocco in the early 1980s and we visited Ceuta - although that was just a coach trip from Tangier. We did do the ferry ride from Tangier to Gibraltar and back for a day trip though!

if you are staing in gib i whould reccomend getting a hotel in la linea conception, it is just over the road from the gibraltar frontier and will save you at least half on your hotel. Gibraltar hotels are ridiculously expensive.

great video, i was wondering if you can help me with something. I am going to marrakesh sometime this year and when looking at the ferrys the only route they have s algeciras to cueta. 4 Years ago when i went to tangier i got a ferry from algeciras straight to tangier and i was just wondering are there buses that go from cueta to tangier or marrakesh ?. I have tried looking online but cant get any information.

Another very good informative video! I wanted to go on this trip last year when was on holiday near Algeciras, but didn't have a company (others were drunk :( ) and didn't know it was worth it. The port of Algeciras impressed me much, unexpectedly. Hopefully will do it next time! Is it any passport control in Ceuta on disembarkation, like, for examole on Gibraltar - Spain border?
@msmarinediesel18435 жыл бұрын
I did not see any passport control when I was there, Thanks for watching and commenting
@tiberfoaming41915 жыл бұрын
There's no passport control, as technically (in Spanish perception), it is a domestic, not an international journey. Ceuta and Melilla, unlike Gibraltar, are not colonies or overseas possessions. They are integral parts of the Kingdom of Spain, so travelling from Algeciras to Ceuta is simply a journey between two Spanish cities. Going from Spain into Gibraltar necessitates crossing an international border (however much the Spainish may dispute and dislike the situation) into a British Overseas Territory.
@Alex-ur8kd5 жыл бұрын
@@tiberfoaming4191 Thanks, so there's no passport control when boarding ferry in Algeciras as well? And Ceuta itself-is it walled around from the Moroccan territory? You can't just wander off to Morocco?
@tiberfoaming41915 жыл бұрын
@@Alex-ur8kd : There are no passport controls in Algeciras if you are travelling to Ceuta, anymore than there would be immigration checks from say Barcelona to Madrid by train. I do not know if there are ferries to/from Algerciras to other ports in North Africa, but these would of course be international journeys, with the usual non-EU border controls. Ceuta is completely fenced-off from Morocco which surrounds it. Officially, you can only enter and leave via the land border-crossing point, which is heavily-guarded and subject to immigration and customs controls. The fence is very effective at keeping the inhabitants of Ceuta IN. How effective it currently is at keeping illegal African immigrants OUT is debatable. Do a KZbin search for videos of swarms of them storming the fence and entering Ceuta (and thus Spain and the greater EU) by force.

I note the Spanish are always pressing for the return of The Rock but they won't give up their enclaves?? Double standards?
@Diddy1970AD5 жыл бұрын
In a word, yes. The Spanish however argue that their north African enclaves have a different status than Gibraltar. Gibraltar, Ceuta and Melilla rightly or wrongly are now 21st Century geographical anomalies but I can't see the status quo of these territories changing anytime soon.
