@@arielle8010 The genie isn't "another person". It's a fictional character that did not exist before Robin Williams gave it a voice. You can't impersonate something that doesn't have anything to impersonate. Robin Williams did not do an impersonation of the character because the character did not exist. Dan Castellaneta DID do an impersonation - of Robin Williams.

Ed Wynn was one of the actors approached to play The Wizard in the 1939 classic film The Wizard Of Oz, however, the role was too small for him. For Disney, he voiced the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland (1951) and portrayed Uncle Albert in Mary Poppins (1964). His performance as the Mad Hatter served as inspiration and reference for the character King Candy in the 2012 Disney animated feature film Wreck-It Ralph. Wynn died June 19, 1966 in Beverly Hills, California of throat cancer, aged 79. He was interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, and his gravestone reads "Dear God, Thanks... Ed Wynn". His granddaughter stated in her speech when accepting his Disney Legends award on his behalf that Walt Disney was a pallbearer at his funeral.

I never really watched the Hunchback when I was a kid because I didn't much get it, but as an adult, it's one of my favourites. I never caught "Achilles, heel," though. That's awesome.
@kriscynical5 ай бұрын
A wholesome Tigger story: Back when I was in college and flying home a few times per year, I used to just sit back with my iPod Video (this was '03-'07) and either doze to music or watch a movie. Save for one flight that I've always remembered. It's not that anything mind blowing happened, but rather just a simple wholesome connection that I ended up having with the dude who was sitting next to me. He looked to have probably been in his late 20s, early 30s at the oldest, and I was 21 or 22. He wasn't creepy, just friendly. I had a Tigger patch sewn on the front of my backpack that I always used as my personal item to fit under the seat. When I boarded the guy was already in his middle seat next to my window, and he got up to help me put my duffle bag in the overhead because I'm fun sized at 5'2". In the process, he saw that Tigger patch and I guess he decided to give me a little bit of a character test. As I was putting my backpack under the seat he pointed to the patch, saying "You know how to spell Tigger, right?" I blinked at him for a moment before saying "T-I-double-guh-er." "Hey, exactly!!" It was the only flight I took in those four years that I ended up chatting with my neighbor for the whole thing. Like I said, it wasn't anything eventful or earth shattering. Just nice. 🙂

Not sure if you were aware, but he had Lewy body dementia (LBD). I believe he also had a Parkinson's diagnosis as well. If I recall correctly, some of those close to him believed he could not stand what was happening with his brain and he chose to go out on his own terms. Severe invisible depression is no joke (I speak from experience) and for sure he had mental health issues including depression. But the type of LBD he had and how his own brain/body was turning against him... Hard to say what my choice would be in that situation.

12:37 Let's be real here, the real reason they didn't want him adlibbing to start with was racism. It's not like *The little mermaid* , a movie about a princess shutting up and falling for the first prince she meets, was some kind of artwork that needed to be played with the utmost respect. There's a lot of problematic stuff about the mermaid intercut with moments of singing songs. I'm glad someone seems to have said: "Just let him talk for once, maybe it will add some fun to this boring mess!" And it did. As a child, Sebastian was my favorite. Not necessarily the jokes, I was far too young to know what an "inch" even was. So I didn't understand any of that. But Sebastian had the best songs too! "Unda da see!" and "Kiss de gurl" were the best.
