I might have the definition wrong but for me “the revenge dress” meant that dress wore in the first (or one of the first) public appearance after being very publicly cheated on by your significant other (or dumped out of no where for a third party)… not after you got a divorce or you broke up. I understand a woman wanting to regain her confidence after the relationship ends but I somehow feel that the person who didn’t love them may still not love them even in a revenge dress. After my revenge dress moment I just felt stupid. The only thing that works to make him feel bad after he leaves is letting him leave and getting on with life. Indifference is better than a revenge dress.
