That’s when Network news told me the ice caps were melting, polar bears were going to be extinct in 10 years, ocean levels were rising, and Obama was black Jesus. I was geeking out yesterday over the election numbers and found a problem in the numbers. Republicans (Trump) increased his voters from (all numbers are approximate) 63 million to 77 million, a difference of 14 million gained. Democrats increased their voters from 65 million to 74 million, a gain of 9 million. So together, the candidates added 25 million voters. However, the total number of votes, officially, only increased by 18 million, which means some data is off somewhere.

Voter turnout has been roughly stable around 55% from 2000-2016, then jumped to 63% in 2020, then fell back below 60% in 2024. When a record number of states rushed to create last minute mail-in-ballot programs during the height of covid lockdown policies, we had a record number of votes that went for Biden. These mail-in programs are difficult to police for authenticity, especially when ballots are blindly mailed to all eligible voters on the rolls without being requested or having the addresses verified as current.
