Don't expect that in 4 years it's over. I am a Hungarian (living elsewhere), and I assumed the same, and 16+ years later Orban is still in power. These sort of people do everything they can to remain in power, even what is unthinkable for a civilized person. They change the constitution if they can, they change election laws to systematically favor themselves, they run massive fearmongering and hate campaigns continually from tax money to then pose as the only possible savior, they declare emergencies and contingencies left and right that invariably requires grabbing more and more power, they do stunts to divert attention from the most damaging changes, they rewrite school textbooks, they weaken the education system to prevent future generations from thinking critically, and they push people into poverty en masse because poor people can be bought with meager governmental aids, and poor people can't afford the luxury of thinking beyond the next few days or weeks. Trump even has an advantage, since he already has his oligarchy. At the end of the day, they destroy the mental and physical well-being of ordinary citizens, who start to live with constant fear of imaginary things while being able to afford less and less things and feel less and less power to achieve any change. (Also, don't think Hungary is great just because we have strict immigration laws. Those laws aren't even required because even the majority of Hungarians wouldn't want to live in Hungary, and the vast majority of immigrants just want to pass through to reach better countries.)

@ they do pay tax, but I do agree they should get rid of many of the loop holes in the tax system, but also the bottom 53% pay zero federal income tax so what exactly is there fair share? Zero tax hardly seems like that’s a fair share so it’s both ends that stick it to the middle class.

@ I'm in the UK so i have a better understanding of our Tax laws. I would ask a counter question, Why is it that 53% of the lowest paid don't earn enough to pay federal income tax? How many of those 53% are 1 paycheck from homelessness or have health insurance for themselves or their families? It's a complex problem with complex answers that are impossible to discuss here. and from the outside looking in it seems impossible for the US politicians to agree whether its day or night. ( ours aren't much better ) IMO its important to start talking about solutions that need more than 4 years to have an effect rather than name calling and judgement. In my experience there is always more than one solution to any problem but we need to get behind one of them and push together. I worry that extreme inequality will eventually lead to conflict. I like to think of welfare as a bribe the rich pays the poor to not come and steal their stuff in the night.
