Because there are so many row homes in that area, the houses are all close together. That flight was carrying a young patient who had received treatment at Shriners Hospital Philadelphia. His efforts while he was barely breathing, suffering from hypoxia, and still trying to save the plane, made this tragedy even more devastating. So very sad. I live minutes from this location and it's a dense rowhome filled neighborhood and a main road of Cottman Avenue with constant traffic with several traffic lights with strip malls on one side of Cottman Avenue and residential on the opposite side that are rowhomes. I have heard multiple homes were hit and cars in traffic and parked. It's a tragedy. It will take days to identify all who died. It's unthinkable that this can happen. It dropped at full speed shortly after take off within a minute. All the lives lost is just overwhelming.

Not putting out a mayday doesn't mean they were dead or unconscious, only that things went wrong quickly and they were battling to keep control. That has to be either an instrument failure or the pilot suffering some sort of medical emergency. You can hear the engines throttled up for the climb to its cruising altitude. It might be a control surface failure, but it didn’t look to be spinning in the descent, so that would mean all of the control surfaces failed at the same time. The NTSB will have this one figured out fairly quickly.
