We also need this kind of enthusiasm and engagement when it's not an election year. Liberals are pretty good at just walking away when it's all over and then looking shocked when a Trump happens. Town hall meetings and local government stuff is so BORING but sooooo important. A lot of things would get nipped in the bud before they blew up into chaos and having your right stripped from you if people would be this engaged in their own backyard. But, they won't. Short attentions spans exacerbated by social media and screens everywhere means that if they aren't getting a dopamine hit from politics, they won't do anything. The extremem right knows this and all they have to do is bide their time. I hope we can get past this. Get rid of the electoral college and allow for more than 2 parties that hardly represent 350 million people (of which only 1/3 vote).

This is what the rich really want to take away from American society so they can control and extract from human care. Its a little overboard in thought but that seems to be the idea. It also reminds me of the Max Headroom series of trying to force controls. I lived in California when Reagan was Governor there and what he did to our state was just a practice run for what he later did to our nation. And you are spot on correct that SO many of the issues facing our nation today in regards to wealth inequality did indeed originate in policies enacted during the Reagan Administration. His "trickle down" economic policy is STILL trickling down, now across multiple generations, and those who were once classified as "working class poor" are now generational homeless, having been priced out of affordable health care and housing for almost 50 years. It's disgusting. There is no such thing as "compassionate conservative" policies.

Do prisons even have separate Cell blocks for the homeless? Doubt so. You basically put desperate/vulnerable people in the close proximity to criminals.
