+Michael Varhola You are never going to find perfection in anyone but Jesus Christ, Who is the real subject of 'Amazing Grace.' 'For God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us' (Romans 5:8). As for presidents, it is possible to be rude, vainglorious, and vindictive, yet that does not make one any less 'real' or 'human'. 'For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God' (Romans 3:23). This is exactly why it was necessary for Christ to intervene in history. And left to its own devices, humanity would surely destroy itself. Whatever you appreciate in Mr. Obama did not come about by accident. He was exposed to the words of Jesus. If he had been exposed only to the words of muhammad or Marx, he would have turned out differently.

@jesusislord41355 жыл бұрын
+@@jaazielcharles7234 You understand what that means, right? It means 'in name', implying that he professes belief (in islam, you say) outwardly, but may not have the inner conviction. But he claims to be Christian! And one cannot be both at once, that is for certain! If you were to claim that he is a 'nominal Christian' , that would make far more sense. Even so, it is not for you or me to judge. The best way to find out would be to ask him two things, personally: 1. Does he call Jesus 'Lord' (recognizing his Deity)? 2. Does he believe that Jesus rose literally from the dead? See Romans 10:9, 'that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.' Now a 'nominal muslim' would be almost the direct opposite of a 'secret muslim'. For the 'nominal' one says he is but probably isn't, whereas the 'secret' one says he isn't but is. By contrast, secrecy in Christianity is self-contradictory.

+Ana Lee Gomez Why sit on the fence? Does it stand to reason that either you or Obama, thinking and intensely feeling beings, could have arisen BY HAPPENSTANCE in a universe of such marvelous diversity and beauty, governed by incredibly complex and to some extent rationally discoverable physical laws? Can perception and thought arise from absence of perception and absence of thought, as if BY MAGIC? It requires FAR GREATER FAITH in my opinion to be an atheist or agnostic, than to believe in the CREATOR GOD of the Bible. And from what source do your moral perceptions arise? If there is no standard of righteousness, no AUTHOR of moral justice to precede you, you are INVENTING STANDARDS of your own accord; they have NO OBJECTIVE VALIDITY. Perhaps it is as well to murder and be murdered, as to advocate for kindness and justice, in that case. The Bible asserts that mankind had an original personal knowledge of God, which was corrupted by sin and disobedience. (Romans 1:20-22) 'For since the creation of the world HIs invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen , being understood through what has been made, so that they [mankind] are without excuse. for eve though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools.' The murder of black American citizens in that church was a prime example of human sin and folly. Violence and hatred toward other human beings are the result of alienation from God. Jesus Christ came into the world to heal that alienation. (Romans 5:8) 'For God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.'
@jesusislord41355 жыл бұрын
+@Amazing Hater You do not understand the nuances attached to the word 'faith'. Why does the connotation have to be 'religious'? I say that it does not! But usually it is taken to mean belief or trust in something or someone, which is not validated by sensory perception. (Hebrews 11:1) 'Nowfaith is the assurance of tings hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.' Now obviously you cannot verify by sensory perception the nonexistence of God. You do not have the tools or depth of understanding o arrive to arrive reasonably at such a conclusion, GRANTED that you do not see Him. After all, are you an honest enquirer after truth? You are not looking for God; indeed you are determined to arrive at your particular conclusion BEFORE embarking upon any search. Your atheism expresses a wish, no more. Yours is not even a modern superstition! As the Old Testament psalmist wrote, 'The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." ' It would be more honest to admit your ignorance, to say that you do not know whether God exists or not. Common sense might take you that far; going farther in the direction of atheism is nonsense. How do you suppose that a complex and ordered universe containing sentient beings arose BY ACCIDENT out of non-sentience? To believe that involves the GREATEST leap of faith imaginable. 'Common sense' is just that, common and ordinary. Do not expect extraordinary insights from it.
@lisaaspland5 жыл бұрын
Jesus is Lord: I’m loathe to debate religion in the KZbin comments section of an irrelevant video, but you do seem quite intelligent and profess to value logic, so you may well have an answer to this heretofore unanswered question: Why should we dismiss the idea of a complex universe containing sentient life that has no supernatural first cause, but allow for or reconcile the paradox of a complex and sentient god that itself has no first cause? In other words, what explanation can we ascribe to the existence of a creator that we cannot ascribe to the existence of our universe itself? Despite the argument that non-theistic origin theories require “more faith” than theistic ones, they still require one less layer of explanation. Occam’s Razor tells us to make the fewest possible assumptions. If I apply any of the multiple possible explanations for the existence of a first-cause deity directly to the universe itself, haven’t I made one less assumption?

+paulmecelroy81 Believe me, there are detractors, for example those who believe that Obama is a 'secret muslim'. While it is true that Obama has been lily-livered and even sycophantic in his approach to islam, Trump himself is not without fault: for he was the first president to give a ramadan dinner, and he is firm in his support of Saudi Arabia, which persecutes Christianity relentlessly. The fact remains that Obama has publicly declared his faith in Jesus Christ. Not only did he show his support for this congregation in a time of tragedy, but following his presidency he also attended celebrations in Germany of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. Compared with the leader of my country, who is openly pro-islam and contemptuous of evangelicals, Obama looks like a model of reasonableness. But I think Barack would agree with me, that it is not he who embodies grace and light, sincerity and truth, but Jesus.

"That is what it meant to have a black president"!!! Who cares??? The color again?? A person's skin color has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with their intelligence, abilities, character or anything else in reality. A person's strength and morality of character has most to do with the type of person they are and how they make decisions. The decisions one makes and the values one lives by are what can make a country great or destructive. By Obama's values and his hand he was self-destructing America as fast as he could.
