The government is not a corporation. A corporation exists to make a profit for its owners or shareholders. The government exist to serve the public. In my late teens/early adult years, I believed the rhetoric that the government needed to be run like a business. I believed this until I was in my late 20s working in military equipment procurement (in Canada). I saw firsthand that if the mindset and mentality of corporation operations are applied to military equipment procurement, or anything within military operations and support operations, then the military will fundamentally fail. This is not unique to the military, it applies to all government operations. Corporations operate with the goal of making a PROFIT by providing goods or services. Government operations operate with the goal of meeting the NEEDS of the public. Corporate priorities are in total opposition of public services and public priorities.

The Electoral College is a necessary flaw in our system, as we have attempted to insure that the minority opinions are given equal weight. There are a list of reason for and against the Electoral College, and in the end of the equation, the only real flaw is it's harmonization to the popular vote. I was married to an American ... after living with him in America for a couple of years I wanted to come back home to Australia ... he argued "how could Australia be better than America ... we are the greatest country in the world" ... after disagreeing with him ... I came home ... he followed me a few weeks later after tying up a few loose ends ... and HE NEVER WENT BACK !! He loved Australia ... the laid back "she'll be right mate" attitude ... the love we all have for everyone else, the work ethic, the sickies, the paid annual leave etc He was loved by everyone he met, and he loved everyone he met! He passed away at the age of 50 (American Diet!) ...before Trump came down the escalator!!! Bless his soul ...I am so glad he didn't have to answer for the stigma of Trumpism & MAGAts !!! All I can say is whatever work or social situation I am in ... if US politics comes up in the conversation (which it does much more than Australian Politics) the usual phrases you hear are ... "How could they be so dumb" "Trump is a narcissist trying to line his own pockets" "If he wins they are fvkked" "This Project2025 thing will be the straw that breaks the camel's back" "This Vance guy is worse than Trump" etc However I send my love and support to you all in every way ... but PLEASE ... I've got a number of friends who have suggested that I emigrate to Australia. Sadly, at the age of 67, I'm not financially able to do as I'd like. Besides, I have a 93 year old mother with Dementia whom my brother & I take care of. So I'm here until she's called away by God, because I'd never just abandon her to some rest home where they'd make sure that her stay would be a short one, it's the sad state of elderly medical care her in the U.S. And I need to be here to vote & make sure that that pair of shitstains don't ever see the inside of the White House.

Curtis Yarvin's claim that government is just a corporation is incorrect in many if not all respects. First, a corporation is private and has the goal of making money. A government is public and forbidden from competing with private industry. It can't make profits; it can only raise revenue by very limited means. This is why it's always carrying debt. His claim that the Government is a corporation isn't completely false btw. Its not how we commonly use the words because obviously, a Government is different in many respects to how we understand corporations to be, yet the claim isn't entirely without merit (primarily, Corporations aren't private institutions, contrary to popular belief.) Not having read his book but having read similar arguments, let us break down the claim (or at least what I surmise it to be.) A Corporation is people united in one body for a purpose, and they are "public". Before we begin I will not use the word "Corporations", instead I will use the word Corporate Companies to describe "Corporations" in the traditional sense, this is as not to cause confusion. Corporate Companies and the State are both Public, the main difference being that corporate companies require a buy in and the State does not. The Corporate Company is public since it is made up of, or rather controlled by its Shareholders who buy into it. The State is public in the sense that it is made up of its electorate, its constituents, who do not have to have a buy in to become part of the State, but do have to fulfil some criteria, such as Citizenship. In these senses both the State and Corporate Companies are both Corporations, they are both "Public Institutions" although one requires buy in, they are both people united in one body for a purpose, for Corporate Companies it is to do the will of the Shareholders (which is usually to make profit for them, but it doesn't necessarily have to be) and for the State it is to enact the will of the electorate.
