Not only comparing their crowd sizes but also look at how both groups treated their supporters with the heat. trump had a supporter have a medical emergency which he stopped talking (looking frustrated he was interrupted) and when someone mentioned water he grabbed a water bottle from the podium and proceeded to drink it. When he stopped and put the lid on he pointed it towards the crowd then proceeded to drink it again. Walz on the other hand was checking with others in the audience if they needed water and reminding them to stay hydrated while making sure the one who needed help got it.

That's absolutely right. We CANNOT afford to be complacent and to think "it's all in the bag." Attending rallies is good, and everybody loves a good speech, but I am hoping that people take all this energy and turn it into organizing, door-knocking, courageous conversations, registration recruitments, and more. The adage "Each one, bring one" has never had more weight than it does this year. All that being said, two things fuel a _cautious_ optimism in me this year, versus 2016... At this point in '16, I knew Donald was going to win. Anyway, two things: (1) Vice-President Harris does not have 25-plus years of manufactured baggage from the right (Rush Limbaugh, Jerry Falwell, Pat Buchanan, Newt Gingrich, et al) that Hillary had/has. Therefore, they don't have any other ammunition against her besides "the hits." ("Ooh, look at her! She's a girl! She has brown skin! DEI hire! DEI hire!!") (2) A woman losing her reproductive freedoms and fundamental rights to privacy granted by the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution (and, subsequently, cemented by the _Roe V. Wade_ [1973] and _Planned Parenthood V. Casey_ [1992] Supreme Court decisions) was only a "wild"/"impossible" concept eight years ago. Now, it is the reality in America in 2024. As a result, a sleeping GIANT has been awakened in this country. Where in 2016, I foresaw a Donald victory in the Electoral College (I knew he would lose the popular vote, because... he's Donald!), this year, if the people *stand up,* organize, and take the *fight* to the ballot box - in numbers too big for the Neo-Confederate election deniers Donald has in place to rig or ignore - I could see Kamala Harris and Timothy Walz securing 400 or more Electoral College votes, and goodness knows how many popular votes. In other words, a TRUE landslide, the likes of which we haven't seen since Bush / Dukakis in 1988. To paraphrase Vice-President Harris: Each of us has the power to make that happen.
