Housing prices weren't any lower and people were getting kicked out of their houses because they were out of work. Trump was able to temporally close the borders because of the COVID pandemic. I don't trust most big media anymore. All the major newspapers are owned by billionaires who, coincidentally, donate to Republicans. The NYT is a sedate version of National Enquirer now. They have a history of promoting hoaxes that serve the GOP all the way back to the Gulf War. I go to Guardian, LA Times, Substack for news and analysis. MSNBC has some good people, but you need outside analysis to point out their failings. As Lawrence O'Donnell pointed out, most media failed their duty to warn.

Elderly people's brains are more fragile than people in their prime. Any ill-health and lack of sleep can put strain on their mental faculties. The process of dementia has inexorable steps. If an elderly person suddenly skips all those steps, they do NOT have dementia, their body is in some kind of stress. The solution is to get them well and rested and their mental faculties should recover. The presidency is a job that visibly wears on the occupant, campaigning is notoriously exhausting, and Biden was catching Covid (for the second time). There is also a strain called Long Covid that has lingering effects on your mental quickness. Biden is also a stutterer who has struggled all his life with his speech, partly why he's known as a gaffe machine. Biden seems to have recovered, and with the stress of campaigning off him, he can relax between doing his job.
