I'd add -- in Canada, votes are all on paper, and AFAIK hand-counted (or at least hand-verified). The national pop here is ~10% of the USA, and we get our results done within about 36 hours.

Georgia should hire right now 1000- 10,000 extra poll counters and train them to be prepared on election week/night. Even bring in poll counters from outside the state if necessary.
