I watched on my phone but came to the computer to add a comment. Today is all goes well I am starting an adjustable jelly roll quilt. I found two jelly rolls I bought years ago on sale. I think they were leftovers because they were in bags. One has blues and yellows. The other has greys. I didn't know there is a jelly roll day. 😂

I have never purchased a jelly roll. I like the way the colors all coordinate and go together. A jelly roll will be on my wish list now. Loved the unboxing video today.

Thanks! Watch for the sales. You can get a nice jelly roll for a decent price when they’re on sale. MSQC actually has some on sale today. I don’t know how long It lasts. I posted about It on the community tab. Even if you’re not ready to buy a jelly roll right now It might be good to get a feel for the prices. That way you’ll know a good deal when It comes around.

Im going to have to go out and buy a jelly roll with strawberry filling. I have some jelly roll fabruc but i hate to open it so beautiful til opened. Lol😅 hugs

Yes on both. I haven’t had a jelly roll with strawberry (or any) filling in many years. I’d have to make my own due to allergies. Jelly rolls look so nice sitting on the shelf.

Gosh - I read the title of the video and immediately thought you had bought a Sweet 16 sit down quilting machine from Handiquilter second hand! I have one and love, love, love it. Best investment I've ever made along with my embroidery machine. BTW, doesn't your Brother machine have a second thread holder? You slot it into the top for stand up thread cones rather than having it sit beside your machine.

I’ve watched many videos for the Sweet 16. They look amazing. I wasn’t making quilts for a while so no need. Now that I’m back to quilting we’ll see how I feel. Now that you mention It yes my brother machine does have a second peg but it’s a stand up spool on my brother so I rarely use a stand alone thread holder. Now for my Juki I do. It’s a horizontal thread holder and It wouldn’t hold the large cones that I use for white threads anyways. The thread spool that I bought works great with both machines. Thanks for the reminder.

@@rsislandcrafts You'd think that Juki would provide one given that they are more industrial than domestic and therefore need more thread to cope with the volume. I know I would.

I have only purchased a few jelly rolls. I think they are too expensive for me.

Fabric has gotten so expensive but the quilt cotton is a heavier weight. I think manufacturers are making quilting cotton to last a long time.

Jelly rolls are a bit costly for sure. It’s nice to have a bit of each fabric in a line but a charm pack is easier for most people. I like to make my own jelly rolls using colors I like.
