Tying shoes is very difficult for those with hand issues. I hope the hemostat variation makes It easier for you.

On PC, how do you switch from the list of videos to the chat window when replaying?
@rsislandcraftsКүн бұрын
When you click on the chat a side window should open up on the side of the video. The PC process or view shouldn’t be any different than what I showed on my laptop as far as I know.

Love those coasters. Cox is without a doubt the best internet in the valley. They are expensive but they do have different speeds for different prices. BSS is not a sewing term I have ever heard. Looking forward to learning it's definition.
@rsislandcrafts3 күн бұрын
Thanks! The coasters were fun to sew. We had Cox for a bit when we first moved here. A Best Buy Employee told me that Verizon Home is the best in the area but hard to get into. He was correct about the difficult part. It took awhile for a space in this neighborhood to open up. I’m digging my heels in with Cox because when I called to cancel they were very rude and told me that I’d be back. 🙄 She said Verizon isn’t very good. Grrr. So annoying when rude people are correct 😉
@betterdazes16483 күн бұрын
@rsislandcrafts rude customer service people need to find a new career. Maybe Verizon can do something to improve your connection. Hopefully their employees aren't rude. Good luck.

Thanks! I know a job is a job so to speak but I’ve never understood why people work in customer service when they don’t enjoy talking to random people all day.

For the chenille scrunchies, pull the fluff off the end for about 2 or so inches and knot the bare threads before weaving in

omg, this is just the tutorial I was looking for!, you're a life saver! Any tips for cutting out the fabric pieces for bulk projects? Also my outer fabric has holes as part of the design, can I put the fusible piece on liner? :)
@rsislandcrafts3 күн бұрын
Some bag makers prefer to put the fusibles on the lining versus the outer bag fabric. I’m also a quilter so if I need to cut lots of fabrics I use a rotary cutter, quilting ruler and cutting mat. If you’re making lots then you can also use electric scissors.
@AlexisChavivaAndrei3 күн бұрын
@@rsislandcrafts omg you're like the sweetest KZbinr! Thank you for your quick response! Would you draft like a block and then just place the fabric underneath it to cut?
@rsislandcraftsКүн бұрын
Thank you you’re very sweet and then I missed this comment. My apologies. I’m not sure what you mean by draft like a block. You could cut out a pattern from a piece of paper or whatever you would like to use. Then use It to cut around on top of your stack of fabrics. Or trace around the top fabric and then cut with scissors etc. It’s not my style of bag making. I don’t use paper patterns. I cut by measurements. It’s because I made quilts before bags. I lay my quilting ruler on 2-4 pieces of fabric and cut with my rotary cutter. When I’m making zipper pouches I rarely make more than one or two out of the same fabric. Which means I tend to cut one piece of fabric at a time. When It comes to the linings I try to use the same fabric for all of my pouches that I’m making that day. Then I can cut multiple at the same time. I like to cut all fabrics on day one. I’ve been using fusible fleece for my simple pouches. I’ll fuse all of the fabrics on day one also. Then when I sit down to sew on day 2 I can crank out a bunch of bags. I tend to make 20 zipper pouches at a time in an assembly line style.

I had to look up BSS...I don't ever remember hearing that one...but then there is a lot I don't remember. I would love another video of bits and pieces of your days. I love your rambling videos, you usually make me laugh in something you say or do because it would have been my thought or gut reaction. It has taken me three tries to sit and watch this. Never a dull moment here.

Y’all live such busy lives 🤣. I don’t usually see the BSS abbreviation but most videos or patterns do say you need this that and your Basic Sewing Supplies. Sewing machine, thread, scissors, rotary cutter, etc etc etc.

@@rsislandcrafts It is funny...I consider myself a maid to a dog, a general housekeeper. Not a good one at that. And I feel I accomplish so little...it is stop and go out with Copper, oh, he then wants fed...then in a bit I have to fix hubby a snack and take it to him. That is along with a morning full of chores. I just cannot do as fast as I used to. Or if I do, I have to pause and take a break...thus the stopping and starting of videos.

Sorry you got lost. I thought I gave lots of instructions and showed more than one ornament. You should be able to watch just one section and still get all of the steps. I’m sorry I missed what you needed. It’s an awesome ornament but not a beautiful ornament? I guess It depends on the fabric you choose. Happy Sewing!! 🪡

I ordered it from Premier. I will let you know how it is. We are used to working with strands of yarn. The fluff stuff seems like it is bits of fluff with teensy string.🤔
@rsislandcrafts4 күн бұрын
I watched a video on how chenille yarn is made. It is two thin threads/strings that one machine holds taught while another shoots bits of fiber at the threads. Crazy but interesting.

I think the fluff is the nature of the polyester yarn. I have tried hobii and fluff is everywhere. I ordered some polyester fluff yarn to make a loaf cat for grandson. My youngest son and 2 grandsons have beautiful hair. Yes, the girls also love their hair. You son's really dark hair is gorgeous.

I watch ArtyRV. It is a channel run by Ed and Barb Streeter who own a stained glass business and store in South Carolina. Barb’s family has been involved in stained glass for several generations and Ed just happened upon it by chance as a young man. Now he does stupendous stained glass windows for restaurants and churches and wonderful blown glass work and Christmas ornaments, as well as teaching it in classes. They like their show on KZbin because they can reach so many people from around the world. Barb also works with fabrics dying with indigo. Their name is from their RV they use to attend stained glass shows and probably just vacations. They have a beautiful dog named Miss Mary. Their show is on Monday evening at 7:00 pm and they provide all you ever wanted to know about stained glass.

Could you show me how to appliqué the blue border onto the hexagons please. I’m new at this and also a very visual learner…thank you so much
@rsislandcrafts8 күн бұрын
I do not have a specific video for the border but I do have a video that shows how to use one hexie in a quilt block. That shows how to actually machine sew the hexie down. If you prefer to hand aplplique your hexie then you’ll need to find a video about hand appliqué. I can hand appliqué but not as well as those who do It all of the time. Better to watch their videos. I would recommend cutting your border fabric wider than you need It to be. That gives you some wiggle room if anything gets a bit wonky or shifts. I would make a line with a sewing marking tool where I would like the hexies to lay on the border or just fold and iron a straight line. Then put a ton of pins to hold everything in place. If you’ve made a standard quilt then you may already know how to add borders. I like to add both side borders first then the top and bottom borders last. I know the struggle of being a visual learner. I hope that helps you a little.
