Why do you suppose my new whisper light international has very little blue flame but seven or 8 inches tall of yellow flame when using white gas after suitable warm-up time?

+Kelvin LOU Hey Kelvin. For flame ring maintenance, we recommend soaking them in a solvent for 10-15 minutes and wiping them down.

Is there a reason why it’s not stated that the Universal can burn 100% propane gas bottles (Coleman 1lb bottles) with a LPG/propane to lindal adapter? All the manufacturers with e don’t say you can or say you can’t yet everyone who does it says it works fine

Good question, and that's correct! This has to do with the valve type. We do not recommend using third party adapters with our stoves. These are a potentially unsafe modification of the stove. This can cause the stove to burn at heat levels that it has not been tested for which can lead to permanent damage of the stove.

@@MSRGear my recommendations for the Universal to really stand out amongst the competition, would be make bottles that can store water so they are more multi use, design and test lindal valve adapters for both the higher performance 100% pure 1lb propane bottles (which can also be refilled from the bigger 20lb propane tanks with the right adapter), and also a lindal adapter for the cheaper and more common (than iso butane canisters) 100% butane canisters which are available everywhere in multi packs. Instead people are either just using after market adapters anyway, or less likely to buy the Whisperlite Universal as it may not be as multifunctional in terms of various fuel types as they would prefer (even though it is very multifunctional)

Hi! Thanks for these useful videos. I'm having some issues with my Whisperlite International. The fuel line is blocked and the cable is stuck there, I can't get it out. I know its blocked because even though the stove works, the flame is very weak. I would be really greatful if you could help me with these.

How can I tell if I have the Whisperlite international or Whisperlite? I have an older one handed down and was just wondering what was the difference? Is it just the jet? And can I change the jet?

yaks6312 I believe the Universal can run off of both liquid fuel (white gas, unleaded gas, diesel, kerosene) AND their isopro propane canisters. The International can only run off of liquid fuel. I'm not sure if one could potentially change out some parts and run both with an older model. I purchased the International because I prefer the cheaper prices of white gas. Canisters get pretty pricey.

All of our MSR pots we make are designed to fit that stove- EXCEPT pots made specifically for WindBurner and Reactor systems. If it’s not one of our pots/pans, we can’t say whether or not it will fit.

ah!!! My whisperlite international came with a UG jet installed! UK came with whisperlite international in a bag on the side also. Very good. thought'd Id have to buy one.
