Please make this in a silicone nylon variant as it will make its significantly lighter and easier to pack down. That said this tent’s design is amazing. Don’t change anything else.

I have this MSR backpack and MSR Snowshoes and the pack works well for carrying the snowshoes. But the shoulder straps are so insufficient. I can add pads with velcro straps to the shoulders for more comfort but would love to modify the straps as they come down the front of my torso. Would like to be able to attach a water bottle holder, my Garmin inReach, and possibly a phone holder! Any ideas?!! looking at Etsy and MYOG sites but not finding anything suitable.

@MSRGear what about a heat exchange pot designed for the liquid fuel stoves like the whisperlite and dragonfly?
@OutdoorPrep24 күн бұрын
This is a perfect example of how an engineer develops a product with great potential, that then gets ruined by the rest of the company because someone else developed a handle that comes off too easily that then leads to recalls and MSR's "solution" is to send people a Pot Lifter which you can not use without taking off the lid first... Such a disappointment from a company that has SAFETY in their name...

I am mildly curious, however I just have to get it out there. As a BA copper spur owner, this tent sure does look like a copycat of that design, except with inferior poles and material in places. Freestanding, the top spanner, lofts and the corner brackets all seem pretty eerily similar. I am curious about the volumes/vs 1/2/3P rating as the spurs are a little small for the rating (we use a 3p for two and it is comfortable). The stakes are nicer though (love groundhog minis!). I hope they plan to beat BA in pricing, because without DAC and with the PU in places it ahould be lower cost to manufacturer, yet similar in weight. Also good idea with the stuff sack. BA's stuff sack is a PITA. At least they dongive you a seperate sack for poles though. Not sure if MSR is including a pole bag.

Always a hater out there just because you overpaid for the name brand. And got less for your money. And by the way the quality of the MSR is superb. They nailed it..
@leonpalnau683920 күн бұрын
@stephenboldrey9973 What a ridiculous comment. MSR is not a name brand??? It's Mountain Safety Research. One of the largest and most well known US based professional backpacking equipment suppliers. I have several pieces of MSR in my kit. It's black and white. Not only is it a copycat of a competitors most well known model, but the materials are cheaper. It better cost less. MSR already has a bad rep with poles snapping in their most popular tent (the hubba hubba), because they didn't want to license DAC, yet charge the same amount. DAC poles are better than anything else in the industry full stop.

MSR essentially created this tent form factor with the first Hubba Hubba in 2004, four years before BA came out with its first tent. I own both brands and they're both great, but BA followed MSR in this category. The Copper Spur was essentially a copy of the Hubba Hubba

How would you use a paddle to put it up, would a blade fit in the pocket, or if not how you you tie it etc.?

If anyone's wondering you can make a solution like this one-to-one ratio silicone and mineral spirits can paint your whole tent let it dry out for 24 hours after 48 hours is better than me later especially if you have cheap tents from Canadian Tire like Coleman or Woods

I have had two of these. First one sent back because the I saw bubbles with safety check. Now the other one I have I can hardly backflush because I have to blow so hard to get water through. Thinking about buying another system now.. I use it with source convertube and Nalgene bottle and have used it only few times with pretty clean water from the outdoors.

So, to solve the nonexistent problem of finding zip tabs in the dark, straight door zippers now require opening two zippers instead of one to get in/out while rushing to keep bugs out?

I have this system. Even though I like to use it on my trips, I find it complicated to maintain clean. I have many questions.
It is amazing. I love everything except for the colour of the fly. Are they going to make it with a green fly for Europe? If so, when?

Watching this in 2024 to do some maintenance on my Dragonfly from 2013. I've done zero maintenance and used it a ton. I hope MSR keeps up the same build quality as they used to because this thing is amazing.

Sorry I can't watch this. I am a gear enthousiast, but I'll wait for the big channels to review it. This video is so hard to watch, it screams COMMERCIAL TIME! Hard to follow with that extremely exaggerated commercial voice.

@@kaspersergej Maybe someone should tell them this isn't how you get people to buyyour product? Zenbivy doesn't do fake voice commercials, they work together with streamers and show their products in real situations, with the stats and everything, instead of whatever this fake stuff is.
