In this video I'll take a quick first look at the MSR stock pot. I'll also share my thoughts. I feel that I'll be using this one a lot! Enjoy!

I know this video has been a few years, but I am very tempted to add the stock pot to my cooking utensil cache. After watching a few other videos and owning the smaller MSR pot, I believe I understand why the smaller pot does not have heat exchanger fins and the larger one does. The smaller one is meant for cooking with lower heat hence the 'sauce pot' name, and thus it needs a less efficient heat exchange to not create a big burnt center in whatever your are cooking. Like mac and cheese or ? Whereas the 'stock' pot is just that, meant for heating large amounts of more liquidy foods or water or stews. Just a thought.

Great gear. Looking for something like this. Family of 4 is hard to feed with most camping stuff. Lol

Hello I looked at all your stove videos and noticed that even though you appraise the flame control of the MSR dragonfly you do not have a review of it. Could you do a video demonstrating the flame control and maybe comparing it to a similar stove like the polaris? Thank you

That’s a slick system. Thanks! On an unrelated note... I know you’re a navy man and also a campstove freak... I was having a conversation with another stove freak and he had asked me when the marines used the optimus 111t as a platoon stove. My theory it was mid 80’s to mid 90’s... after they went to single fuel across the services and before the coleman exponent and later the msr xgk were fielded. Any insight?

Great comment! Nice to hear from you. I hope you're doing well. I'm not sure about that info on the stoves. I'm thinking that you're thoughts are accurate though! Blessings!

That is a cool set up...I mean intense!...a Liter in 3.50 minutes?...that's just insane...lol. Our penny stoves have a lot to catch up on...lol. But I will say that time in speed is not an issue with heating water while in the sticks EXCEPT!!!...first thing in the morning when that coffee needs to be ready in an instant after our first wake-up call to the nearest tree...lol. Seriously...I wanted my coffee right then...lol. after the last shake.

Hey there, great video. Will those Windburner-Pots work on an Optimus Nova Stove? What's the diameter of the Windburner Stove Head? Greetings from Germany!!

Does the pot lock on to the stove like the 1L pot? Also would this be safe for the non remote model?

A good example of a very bad review. Not objective, no testing comparing criticism, not telling that it hardly fits on any serious stove other than the stove showed. Waste of time to see it all.
