Thanks for the great review! Can you say a little more about cold weather performance? 30F isn't all that cold, and I was wondering how it would fare without a pre-heat loop like the MSR Windpro II. So no running it inverted on liquid fuel. I cannot see how the regulator would overcome the physics of fuel not evaporating in an upright canister at temperatures well below freezing.

Thanks for asking. The Windburner is not meant for temps much lower than 30 degrees F. MSR has their reactor line which will do much better in temps down to 0 degrees F.

Ok I am owner of msr duo stove but msr dealers in UK really sucks. In Southampton, UK no shops selling 8oz or 16oz canisters. I can only get 4oz. Really bad supply from Msr. Starting to regret buying this stove. Any chance to use other brand gas canisters? Thanks.

Hey Marcin! MSR canisters are recommended, but any quality isobutane and propane fuel canister could work. You will sometimes run into compatibility issues with push-pin sizing, so it pays to test out a different canister before going on a trip. Happy Trails!

Does it fit salsa anything bag with salsa hd anything cage?

Hi Marcin, We don't carry the Salsa bag, so we can't try it in person. Salsa states the Anything Bag has a 5" diameter, which is the same diameter as the Windburner Duo. You may be able to squeeze it in, but it may be a very tight fit, and might be awkward to remove. If you like the Salsa cage, you might want to look for a bag with a 6" diameter, or perhaps a stretchy, neoprene material to protect the stove.

how is simmering with WindBurner Duo compared to old one?

We believe the Simmer function performs better on the new one due to the internal pressure regulator. We made eggs on the ceramic skillet and it simmered like a champ!

That’s pretty much all any backpacking stove is made to do. Technically you can get a pan that is specifically made for this stove
