I was so sad asI know ceremides are supposed to be beneficial, but I needed to stop after a week of using it because it sucked th life out of my skin :( I do not know what was in it that my skin did not like

Stephanie I love your vids and I have for ages. My daughter and I have weeded out anything that's not cruelty free and I think we're at all vegan now. I have always appreciated you for your dedication to cruelty free but I don't know what's happened. I love how you pointed out about the bee venom and snail mucin harvesting, so many people don't care. I am 53 and still have very oily skin prone to small breakouts now and then if I am sick (the flu for instance)🤒, but the products I use never let me down. My main stay is a derma e wash that just keeps everything clear, I use it with my muslin cloths or my Soniclear, it's superb. You've got sooo many products, couldn't you find a way to using only those not tested on animals? I'm sorry if I've offended you I have tremendous respect and admiration for you, but I can't understand this.

Great video. I get annoyed when people say “you can just buy all the oils and mix it yourself” without taking into account that the ratio of said oils is precise. Oh Steph, you are a blessing and a curse. I finally went for the Dr. Jart Ceramidin (on the Sephora VIB Sale) and got the Starter Kit with the two minis (which after doing some math ends up being NOT good value for the amount you get compared to the full sizes) and ended up LOVING IT. I use a retinol once a week and my skin peels and flakes for the next 5 days which means my skin used to look weird most of the time. Not with this, not anymore. HOWEVER, when I decided to splurge on the full sizes of each, I noticed both are sold out on Sephora, and I blame you. It was your recommendation.Everyone ran to buy it. It was your fault I love it and your fault I can't get it.

Your videos are always great and informative, but I really wanted to say THANK YOU for bringing up things other beauty/skincare influencers don’t generally talk about. We need to be aware of what happens when we rinse off that fun glitter mask down the drain, what those little beads in our body wash are made out of, or how companies get those elusive ingredients like squalane, snail mucus or bee venom. Thank you so much for including that information in this video!! ❤️❤️ And I’ve been desperately searching for a new oil with retinol for my super dry skin that isn’t 100 bucks, definitely going to check out the Jordan Samuel facial oil!! THANKS!

This video is a MUST! I print these out! Stephanie: when the Sephora sale happened, I used my Christmas gift for mostly skin care. I bought for the 1st time: belief moisturizing bomb & Fresh SEABERRY FACE OIL, another tube of the bite agave lip mask, as well as my faves the Shiseido IBUKI line cleanser and moisturizers etc. It was truly a LUXURY to buy these and have a full range of skin care to use, whether I wanted to wear makeup or not. What a difference they make for my 61 yr old skin! Now that I am on Tretanointin (sp?) 0.025 to start I really need the moisture and non drying face wash, as I have peeled twice OMG(!!!). I also bough a Sunday Riley kit but I have not figured out yet when to use what oil, I just have to watch your other videos again... I also have dryish skin but not sensitive, oh I also bought sunscreen for myself and hubby of 40+yrs. I HAVE ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY VIDEO YOU POSTED. Thank you for all your help this year and I wish you and yours the best New Year ever! GRUSS GOTT!

Regarding the Drunk Elephant Sheer Umbra Tint: WARNING: THIS PRODUCT IS NOT DARK SKIN FRIENDLY! 1/4 teaspoon (the recommended amount of sunscreen that you're supposed to put on your face) made me look like I'm wearing a way too light shade of foundation. I ended up looking super ashy. I'm around an NC42 in MAC, so not even that dark on the spectrum. I would highly discourage any dark skinned beauties out there from wasting your money on this product. It might work better for more medium skin tones though! That being said, I'm seriously not trying to detract from Stephanie's video! I'm so appreciative of all the time and effort you put into your videos and I genuinely value your opinion and recommendations.

I am NOT a Tatcha fan but their beauty Oil has Camellia Japonica which is not the same as Camellia Sinensis (green tea) oil. If you’re looking for a more affordable oil without the gold that actually has Camellia Japonica try Stratia Skin Fortify.- it’s $18 for an oz and contains Camellia Japonica as the first ingredient plus it has borage, swualane. marula, perilla, cranberry, and tamanu oils. It’s a lovely winter oil, I’ve used up two bottles. It’s very rich without being greasy. No irritating essential oils either. Normally I just say buy oils for a supplier like Garden of Wisdom or Lotioncrafter and make your own blend but Camellia Japonica is hard to find and not cheap so Stratia is totally worth it. If I’m gonna spend money on an oil it needs to have oils or ingredients I can’t buy for cheap.

I must say Stephanie that I love your videos they are so in depth. I especially love that you don't forget about deeper skin when you make your comments on products. Like the sunscreens in this video. I followed you because I have dry skin just like you and I was surprised that most of the things you didn't like i also didn't like when i tried them so I def will be trying your favs now. I've been subscribed for a while now but I just had to comment on this video because I just loved it so much. I think that you were one of the best suggestings Jackie Aina has made for people like me with dry skin. Please keep up what you are doing!

Every time I watch any video from you, I'm always educated about something. When I saw that was an hour, I had to make sure to get work and errands done so I could really take in all the info. Thank you for never shying away from giving an honest opinion and thank you for enlightening your followers about the importance of skin care. I'm an impatient spaz that angrily closes out of videos that are longer than 10 minutes but you are a rare exception for me. I become so consumed by your knowledge and it really makes me appreciate the time and effort you put into your content. You're amazing.

I started watching you for makeup and how much info you give out. The skincare info you give is just as good. You are one of the few youtubers I stop everything to watch.

I met a nice lady at work and we bonded by talking about how much we love your channel!! 🙌🏻side note🙌🏻 I love hot tools and I really do honestly always tell people “don’t get that hyped up sh** hot tools is where it’s at”. I’ve had my 1” marcel and straightener since I was in cosmetology school (4 years ago) and they STILL work the best!

Hey Stephanie, I absolutely love your channel! Great video. Just one thing to point out, the Sunday Riley CEO uses a different type of vitamin C, oxygen-stable tetrahexydecyl ascorbate (THD ascorbate). It's a patented molecule and it really is the only stable form of vitamin C with better absorption than your typical C (ascorbic acid) found in almost every other C product, as in the Drunk Elephant. It's very cool and has some excellent research. I'm a chemical geek, so I thought you might like to do some research too. Can't wait for the rest of this series!

Clever Name if you would be willing to link some articles I would love to read them. Thank you. From what I have found, your skin needs to covert derivatives to L-AA. Once the conversion is made, it’s normally not a high enough concentration to stimulate collagen. So it may provide some brightening, but no plumping. I do like some derivatives. But from what I’ve read they are just MORE stable. Not 100% stable. And by putting a cream in a pot you dig your fingers in to contaminate & leave wide open for air to oxidize it, I won’t buy a cream more than $40 that is just marketed as a moisturizer in a pot. All other benefits will be lost. I will def check to see if there’s anything new to read ❤️
@clevername7636 жыл бұрын
Here's a few. It's relatively new and has a patent, so there isn't a ton of articles. Basically, the THD converts to L-AA, its just a difference in molecule for stability. Understand what you mean about the pot moisturizer though. I prefer to spend my money on the serum form in a pump. kingdomofyork.com/skinsnob/BV-OSC.pdf practicaldermatology.com/2011/02/building-the-skin-care-regimen-choosing-the-right-ingredients/ beauty-review.nl/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Double%E2%80%90Blind-Half%E2%80%90Face-Study-Comparing-Topical-Vitamin-C-and-Vehicle-for-Rejuvenation-of-Photodamage.pdf

Hi Clever Name Although the form of vitamin C is more stable than pure vitamin C (ascorbic acid), it can still begin breaking down with repeated exposure to light and air. This moisturizer also contains good plant extracts prone to breaking down when exposed to light and air making them useless.

I always love your skin care videos. My biggest fail for 2017 was the La Mer moisturizing cream. I purchased this while on a cruise after winning some money from the casino and wanted to treat myself to a 'what I thought' was suppose to be an ultra moisturizing treat. Well, not the case for me. I have dry skin and this wasn't any better than some of the less expensive items I purchased. Now I'm having to finish this off, which I have to add some Seaberry oil to make it more useful to my skin.

My fav new product for 2017 is the skinceuticals HA intensifier. It’s so hydrating and plumps your skin. I pair it with skinmedica HA5. Eminence stone crop oxygenating fizzofoliant scrub is a great new find.

I second the Skinceuticals recommendation. I have been putting it on my face and the back of my hands as of late, and it does amazing things for my skin. I will never go without that product again.

My new favorite product is the Skinmedica TNS serum, even if it is made from fore skin! 😂 The HA5 has been a lifesaver too.

I’ve used the Skinmedica HA5 and couldn’t believe the price. It wasn’t as plumping as my Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium lotion, which is a Japanese brand that you can even find on Amazon. It’s under $20, you get a giant bottle, and it has 5 types of hyaluronic acid as well.

So happy to see you back! Because of you and your skincare videos I’ve been able to work towards getting my very troubled skin on track. When I say troubled I mean since I was 15 and gave up on dermatologist because of the side of effects of medicine and all the crazy amounts of money I spent without any sort of knowledge of skincare. I love that you tell it like it is, we need more of that! 💜

angie9222 There are a ton of great affordable products out there! Korean beauty brands like missha, cosrx, Benton, klairs all have great stuff. Just do your research before purchasing! Retail assistants will say about anything to make a sale. I should know as I worked Ina number of retail outlets in my early 20s. They give a few phrases to stick to and if you can make a sale, stretching the 'truth' is permissible.

I really like how your videos and reviews are not just how does the product smells or how much does it cost. Rather, they are in depth information about the bio-chemical content and the mechanisms by witch a particular product works, and what are the immediate and long term results from the usage. Really informative, professional and very educative. This really helps more in choosing the ideal skincare or make up! :):)
