I have never commented on a You Tube video or ever. But I had to this time. You are amazing!! It is so refreshing to see someone who isn't 20 and never had a real job, spouting excessive consumerism and general sketchy business ethics to teenagers. Your knowledge and experience should be applauded and something we need more of in the KZbin "beauty world." And the long videos are the best thing to get me through treadmill workouts! Keep it up! So impressive.

In the sea of young, possibly not 100% honest beauty gurus, Stephanie Nicole is a godsend. I love the honesty, but I also love that you are respectful of other gurus-you disagree but you are mature and adult about it. Your reviews are SO thorough and cover all the bases which really help and actually tell me if a product is good or not and I love it/love you. I love watching your review videos and always turn to you when in doubt about a product.

My god you did it again!!!! Lol I am becoming obsessed with Stephanie. I keep thinking, ok, this is the video where she changes and gives into the hype and money. That's what almost every other youtuber does..... And I've been watching YT vids since 2008. They all start off cool and tell the truth with their reviews, but change as they grow in views, subscribers, affiliate links, sponsors, etc. This woman is a god sent! She is sooo down to earth, intelligent, beautiful, truly genuine, and honest. She doesn't sugar coat her truth because certain people may be watching and that is the reason I love her videos the most. Thank you Stephanie for being you. You are a badass!! I inspire to be more like you. Keep up the GREAT work.

I adore this woman's honesty! I like how she acknowledges that not everything works for everyone, but keeps it real. She by far, the most knowledgable on actual formula and on things that are and aren't good for you. Not only was I able to get yay or nay ideas from her, but I also was truly educated. I don't know why I've been in the dark this long, new sub for sure!

You are the only beauty guru my bf approves of. He's a biomed engineer and whenever he hears the benefits of products from other youtubers he laughs and rolls his eyes. When I started watching your videos he actually nodded and told me he's glad someone actually bothered to read the actual ingredients list. You're the best!

I think I may have misjudged you, and I'm sorry for that. The only content of yours that I've viewed previously to this, the infamous Jeffree Star video, initially skewed my perception of you and your channel. I enjoy Jeffree's videos, and I thought that you were a bit hypercritical of his mistakes. I imagined that you might have allowed your feelings concerning the brand's owner to influence your review of the actual product, and I also assumed that you were potentially negative in most of your reviews based on the titles/thumbnails of your other, recommended videos in the sidebar. However, I do believe that you know your shit regarding cosmetics, and I respect your candor. It is refreshing to see someone discuss and prioritize the ingredients and quality of a product over packaging and hype, and to do so without concern for how your personal/business relationships might be affected by a negative review. I enjoyed this, and I trust your review to be authentic to your actual feelings and beliefs. That's unfortunately scarce in this community. You can expect more, impartial views from me.

This video could've been 3 hours long and I would have been glued to my monitor watching every second. This is one of my favorite videos that I've ever seen in KZbin land you really do an outstanding job with your videos and I appreciate it. I will be watching this again as I have very dry skin and want to make sure I got all the info about the skin care products. Since those Morphe palettes came out I've been debating whether to buy them or not the main reason is because I've been on other websites that sell inexpensive products some palette or colors that look the same or very similar. And I'm always wandering is this the same Crapola (excuse my french) with a different name. Some of their brushes are the same as some inexpensive brushes I've owned. I'm extremely excited for the video you will be doing comparing them with some other companies or brands. I'm so happy I found your channel thanks to my liquid lipstick obsession:):) Have a great day!!! By the way love your new Chanel bag it's gorgeous lol

I'm a new subbie so I'm late on the watching train here but holy sh*t.... thank you so so so so much for making videos!! From someone who has worked in the beauty industry and in sales & marketing for years ..... YOU are a breath of fresh air..... and giving your 1000% honest opinion. I'm someone who does my homework on products and ingredients....even if the company could care less if you have passion for quality and where price tags are worthy and where they're not. I'm so tired of seeing KZbinrs whom just "monkey see monkey do." There's so much you've said ..... like 98% of your commentary make me wanna jump up and yell "YES!! LORD YES!! FINALLY!!!". So I want to personally thank YOU for being here on KZbin! ♡☆XOXO☆♡

Clarification ** Formerly worked almost 10 years in sales & marketing for Beauty industry. Except I did a crap ton of homework on ingredients and on skincare.....I was #1 in sales most months but I only recommended products I used and adored for what was inside. Not it's pretty package (which is unbelievably ridiculous) like I hear 85% of KZbinrs say the packaging is what made them buy it. Dear lord what?!?! Anyway preach on please and NEVER stop!! ♡

Yes, I feel exactly the same way you do! When I first started watching KZbin videos, I fell for the hype so much and I ended up with way too much stuff (and a lot of junk). Thank goodness for people like Stephanie, that actually tell the truth! I don't honestly know how some of those bigger gurus sleep at night, knowing that they have convinced their loyal subscribers to waste money on a crap product! Those gurus have TONS of makeup, so for them, maybe a bad product here or there isn't a big deal. However, as a mom of two kids, I don't spend hundreds of dollars a month on makeup and I want the money I do spend to go to good products!!!

They sell Viseart eyeshadow palettes on Sephora and Beautylish. Good thing is, if you buy from Sephora (given that you live close enough to one), you can still return it even if you have used it. I'm not sure what the return policy is for Beautylish. Just wanted to throw it out there, if you are looking for a smart option when/if you buy a Viseart palette.

I know many below have already made these comments but I would just like to say again that I am such a big fan of yours. I really value your honest opinion and how you don't feel the need to hype a product, brand or person to grow your channel. Almost everything you say is usually backed up by some science which is something I really appreciate. You really take the time to not just get on camera and talk nonsense about something, but really put in the prep work and do research before hand. I know you don't have a million subscribers but in my mind (honestly) you might as well already have them. I know you are not some big KZbinr and this is not your full time job, but to really work a full time job and be able to dedicate this much effort into a hobby is remarkable. Those big name youtubers might have a ton of subscribers but they don't even have 1/100 of the quality content that your videos do.

Thank god I found your videos, somebody on reddit recommended you, I'm forever thankful to them. It's honestly like sifting through crap on KZbin lately, it's so difficult to find someone who's willing to be fully honest and compare products to the best options in that category. That's what viewers need, and it's what I want to know. Most videos, esp from the big you tubers are literally just ads and it's so hard to try to distinguish what's actually worth buying. Thank you so much for all the work you do on your videos! I will recommending you to everyone as well :)

I have been telling people this for years. I SWEAR I have. Especially the snooty beauty gurus who shove products down consumers throats that are horrific!!!! As much as I loved the Tatcha dewy skin mist and as much as I loved the glow it gave me under my matte foundation, I stopped using it after watching her descriptive video on the Tatcha dewy skin mist review. I have to say, after a couple of weeks of not using this, my skin has improved, I'm not sure how or why, but the texture my pores and everything improved. I'm not sure why I didn't notice the damage this product was doing to my skin. Also I noticed I don't experience any breakouts anymore. I'm so thankful I found Stephanie on youtube. Her knowledge on the formula of these products and her honesty on her reviews is a blessing from the God's above because I swear most beauty gurus seem to lack honesty when it comes down to reviews on products.

Thank you so much for telling the truth about Colourpop. I trusted Kathleen Light and I went on spending $50 not include tax and other 20% tax to Vietnam and I hate every single things I have. The blush doesn't show up smoothly, the ones show up gave me block of color and doesn't blend well. The liners sting my eyeballs, the lipstick numb my lips and made me has butthole lips for two days peeling. I was so sad and I thought I was such an idiot to ever trust those reviews. $50 isn't much to many people but to get a bunch of crap , I rather pay for one single cream eyeshadow from Tom Ford that I know I would love till the last bit than collecting bunch of shit. I'm so mad , so sorry. Now I stick to high end make up even it means I have to save and wait for a longer time, I wouldn't mind it at all.

And Makeup Geek makes much better eyeshadows to work with so why Colourpop?
@hw73488 жыл бұрын
I agree. I bought some highlighters and lipsticks a few months ago. I don't mind the lipstick personally because I don't really care how it feels on my mouth. I can put up with it if I like the color. but the highlighters and eyeshadow I got were so bad. I don't even touch them. I hated the colors, and they were so hard to apply with a sponge or a brush, even a stipple brush despite the product being a cream. I have to use my fingers to put that stuff on, but it looks chunky and just sits on my skin and is easily wiped right off. I hate the idea of sticking my hands inside a product.. transferring bacteria and then allowing it to build up inside the container. So unhygienic. I'm so sick of all these beauty KZbinrs with their stupid affiliate codes and stupid sponsorships. I just won't listen to them anymore.

Yeah, I have a colour pop highlighter in Double Dip that does nothing for my skin. Their ultra matte liquid lipsticks are unbearably drying, but I own one colour that looks amazing on my skin tone so I just top it with a gloss. I have 3 shadows I like, and I like their Ultra Satin formula. I find Colourpop very hit or miss personally.
@conjestion7 жыл бұрын
Kim Châu me too! I hate/despise the ultra matte liquid lipsticks. Good thing I only bought 1 full size and the 1 pack of the small size. I only liked 1 of the 6 colorpop liquid lipstick I have. They flake soooooo bad. If they don't flake, they bleed sooooo bad and are streaky. My Sleek liquid lipsticks perform so much better. Even if I eat oily food, they don't bleed and fade easily.

If MAC launched a website tomorrow tearing up all of their competitors' products we'd all be outraged. So why is it ok when Paula does it. Most of her reviews boil down to "This product may have great reviews and works really well but it does contain 1/100th of a drop of alcohol so we don't recommend anyone ever use it ever! 2/5 stars! Try this Paula's Choice product instead that is exactly the same but with no alcohol and cost $30 more."

X0 alicia I totally understand how you feel. I'm sure money definitely plays a role in some KZbinrs but in the end we just have to remember it all goes back to conflicting opinions. Love your videos. *Love* your videos. I like that you do a lot of research into ingredients and you really seem to be unbiased in your reviews. I like that there aren't a hundred thousand jump cuts or flailing around or a high-pitched voice shrieking about how you're "obsessed" with this product that so-and-so company sent you for free (discount code in the description). I really, really like your approach to makeup. A lot of people don't seem to understand the difference between film makeup and in person makeup, and while I support everyone doing their makeup as they'd like, I'm very done with the stress so many youtubers/instagramers put on heavy contouring and baking and strobing and everything else... It's just not presented in a way that goes beyond the filming aspect and transitions into every day life. I'm not here for erasing every imperfection I have. I'm not here for wearing a mask of makeup. And I feel like the fun part of makeup gets lost in everyone's pursuit of the most perfect and unsustainable versions of themselves. I just feel like we should take a step back and reevaluate why we do the things that we do, and why we put so much emphasis on this particular aspect of makeup. /end rant, love your videos, and can't wait to see more!

I don't normally comment on you tubers videos but I had to comment on yours. It is so refreshing to have someone give an honest opinion on products. I love your channel and appreciate your honesty. I have recently in the last two years become more interested in skin care and beauty. Like you I have very dry skin. I was looking to narrow my product search by watching reviews but found I was having to wade through the mud to find the gems like yourself. I am really disappointed by the number of people on here who are giving bad information to people are just looking for a little advice. Thank you for having integrity where others do not. The information you have given me has been incredibly helpful.

You're the first youtuber I've seen who has given a negative review of something from Tatcha and holy hell is that refreshing. I tried their entire line.... the ENTIRE line and it was a gigantic waste of money. My breakouts tripled, cystic acne went nuts. My skin was soft, sure, but lumpy and red and irritated. Don't buy this line. Just don't do it. My skin isn't dry, more oily-combination, but their products are freaking useless and your skin conditions will probably be exacerbated.

Thank you so much for consciously being inclusive of women of colour, it really means a lot, as often we have to rely on those the same colour as us to be reliable, but you are definitely an exception! Keep up the amazing content xo

Damn. Just when I thought I couldn't love your content enough for how informative and well researched it is, I found myself loving it even more because you took the time to acknowledge the spectrum of colors your viewers are. It's one thing to review a product based on your own experience, but it really is going the extra mile to be inclusive to women of color. You and Samantha Ravndahl are the only few that I've seen to address that. In addition, of course, to the ladies of color that I follow. :) I'm also really impressed with Becca's efforts to make beautiful highlights for all skin tones!

I am so freakin thankful that i randomly bumped into one of your videos! Im newer to falling into the KZbin hole for hours, however the last few weeks have been marathon after marathon. I was inspired by a random nikkitutorial someone posted on fb, which lead to js (he who shall not be named here), and several others. The more i watched, the more i really longed to find someone who hadn't been bought, wasnt too negative/positive without merit, and who backed up their opinions with facts/reason. YOU! Holy hell i wish i wouldve found you sooner because i may have shed a tear once the realization hit me as to how many hours i had wasted on others.... :| My first video was the review of KVD metal/matte, you were recovering from the plague, and your eyelids were gorgeous! Ive been ill for about 5 days (literally bed ridden), and you have not only provided an interesting distraction, but also well informed, personable, and not once did i feel like you were trying to convince me that you liked something that you genuinely hated. The second video i watched was a q/a with your mom. i watched every single minute, and could've watched more! There were several times i thought "i wanna spend a holiday with these Ladies, that would be a freakin hoot, with plenty of good debates, 'war stories' of make-up/men/life, and tips n tricks of making my 46yo face look 21 again (jk)... Anyhoo, i want to thank you, (and your mom) for being such awesome, strong, intelligent, fun Women, and for sharing your collective knowledge with us! Also, ive got hooded eyes, and now 46yo lines/wrinkles. i know matte is my new shimmer (sad face), but i still want shiny, fun, colour, and drama sometimes. ive yet to find anyone who can really give good info on this. You did mention the $80 pallet that was amazing and worth every penny (and i drooled at the colours!), however i dont have that kind of money in my eyeshadow budget currently. Could you recommend a decent "drug store" brand that would be good for someone who is trying to figure out flattering make-up for 46yo+ but still fun, and affordable to play around with and find my new groove? you may have already made a video of this, i have lots more of them to get thru. If so, would you please let me know how to find said video, or could you recommend another youtuber who may be a good one for me to check out in regards to affore mentioned needs/wants/desires? Alrighty, rambling on... Thank you again, you rock as does your mom!

If you're still looking for affordable, good quality makeup, might I suggest Makeup Revolution? I have three eye shadow palates and a blush palate from them (that I found in my local Ulta), and they have good color selection while staying in the drugstore price range. If you buy directly from their website I believe they do have more color selection and more types of product than just what's offered at Ulta (at least at my Ulta it's a fairly limited range), but I'd probably suggest checking at Ulta first, since you'll be able to get an accurate gauge of what colors you're buying. Also, Emily of emilynoel83 did a fairly recent review of the palates available at Ulta if you're wanting more specific recommendations. Good luck!

Sundi 7Stars makeup revolution and I heart makeup are good! I actually like a lot of colourpop eyeshadows but be wary. Also the Balm is a bit pricier than drugstore but still not incredibly expensive compared to many brands and they're pretty good! And Sleek! Definitely try Sleek. Some things are hit or miss but they're amazing for the price and they're just really great.

I'm sorry I'm commenting again but honestly the more I watch you the more you're becoming my favorite youtuber and I only discovered you today lol you are so trustworthy and it really does show when you review products. I own/owned some of the things you've compared or talked about both high end and affordable and I'm just sitting here thinking to myself holy shit she is right about all of it! I really trust you now when it comes to advice and reviews simply because I felt the same about 90% of the things you mentioned in this video, even the ones I thought I was completely alone on because they were so hyped up and I thought something was wrong with me when I hated some of those products. You're a real eye opener and so honest.

+Stephen Bailey I feel the same. I don't think they do it maliciously, I think they are just not informed about a lot of stuff, & don't care to learn. KZbin is a job for some people, most of us wouldn't go into our jobs & talk shit about our companies to our customers, even if it was true lol. I hope they don't knowingly recommend stuff thats less than good.

Hi Steph, I'm pretty sure you won't see this comment but hey, maybe one day you will and then I want you to know how much I appreciate your videos! While watching this and hearing you talking about skin care I realized how much my make-up/skin care routine and perception has changed since I discovered your channel (around march). I used to buy a lot of the hype stuff that i.e. Nikkie was raving about. I always thought it was the coolest thing ever how she put all of that foundation stick on her skin and how her skin was unrecognizable afterwards. So I went and bought it. I've seen Jeffree Star tell me how great his eyeshadow palette is going to be, Nikkie said that too. So I went and bought it. Also Nikkie (and I do believe that worked for her) told me how great that Nivea men's balm is as a primer. Well I went and bought that too. Then I went and put that on my face - I broke out and thought it was 'normal'. I had that weird idea in my head that I'd just need extreme coverage so that it would look great (I really thought I could hide texture/blemishes/pimples under foundation). Yeah. I used the MUFE foundation stick - my dry skin looked horrible and pretty much dead. I tried the palette - the eyeshadows were patchy and didn't blend. And that's when I began to REALLY put your advice into consideration. I found out about my undertone and got a foundation that has that undertone and made sure it's good for dry skin. I watched your skin care videos and learned how to take care of my dry, sensitive skin. I waited for your reviews before I purchased anything that was hyped up. Now I have a skin care routine that works good for me (not that it's complete yet, but I have to save money as a student) and I saved a shit ton of money (because of your honest reviews - Nikkie palette!) that I'd rather invest in skin care/priming products than my 10000th palette/lipstick. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Please don't ever stop ❤️

I laughed so loud over the Courtney Love comment that I woke up my son, lol. I'm glad I'm no longer the only person hating the Morphe palettes. I gave the 3 I bought to my 13yr old cousin. All of my loves this year are thanks to you, two of my favs are, of course, the Tarte primer and the Sunday Riley. My biggest hate this year is the Tarte Amazonian clay foundation. I cannot make it work for me, despite trying numerous primers, moisturizers, and application techniques. It looks like it just sits on the top of my skin, enlarging my pores and doing other weird stuff I cannot explain. Oh! You might want to consider trying the Marc Jacobs Remarcable foundation if you ever need medium to full coverage. It's officially replaced my other holy grail foundations. Sorry for the long response but I will end it with this; if no one has told you lately, thank you. Just thank you. I don't know what I would do without you.
