The best thing about "Mystery Science Theater 3000" is that you laugh so much that you miss so much...so, when you watch the same episode again, it seems new...again and again and again. :) This is awesome! :D

Oh, the memories.... Making my kids sit down & 'be quiet!' 'cause MST3K was on. Watching my husband laugh until he cried. Realizing that I was slowly but thoroughly imparting the same twisted sense of humor on my children that I possessed..... Ahhhh. Thank you, Mystery Science Theatre!!! :)

Everybody has different sensibilities and context and therefore different things strike them as funny. Some things everybody can laugh at and certain scenes lend themselves to funny commentary but stuff like "He's a matryoshka doll" is pure genius. I remember Allan Sherman who's album "My Son the Folk Singer" was a huge hit in the 60's so these guys can really reach back and bring it on. Fantastic stuff.
@timmadone89309 жыл бұрын
+Douglas Schwarz Apparently that is more true than I ever thought possible. I always get a good chuckle from a bad movie. But I didn't laugh at almost anything during the 88th Academy Awards last night. Come to think of it, it didn't seem like much of the live audience was laughing either. Actually, that's kind of sad considering how much money was spent on all the festivities. Maybe Roger Corman should have hosted the show & all the movies up for consideration should have been from The Asylum. LOL

The actor, Jack King, was the only "famous" actor on the entire cast. He actually made something of a name for himself in the Southern California theater scene as... You guessed it... A slapstick comedian. He was the Chris Farley of 1950s SoCal.

I've never been able to decide whether Creeping Terror or Monster A-go-go is the worst movie they've ever done. On the one hand, Creeping terror has basically no characters and no dialog, while Monster A-go-go, well it's not even a movie.
@timmadone89309 жыл бұрын
+NameNotAlreadyTaken2 I've seen so many bad movies that "The Creeping Terror" doesn't even seem all that bad anymore. As for "Monster a Go Go", I know I have seen that, but I don't really remember anything about it. I guess that says it all. LOL

I've always thought Creeping Terror is one of the most truly awful and execrable things ever put on film, and why it rarely makes the All-Time Worst lists is beyond me. Possibly because the story behind the film is that it was basically a con job, though after losing the entire sound track the producer/director/everything made a real effort to finish it and even publicize it, so he was serious about it. Monster A Go-Go is supposed to be bad, but CT is supposed to be scary, which makes it much worse in my book.
@chopitup99504 жыл бұрын
@@greggrobinson5116 This movie was so bad that I had to call my brother and vent about it. This movie is about a filthy carpet with tentacles annoying everything and everyone.
