Gotta love how Neptune Men actually broke the trio, and then Krankor arrives to save them with his bellicose ways, but still an affectionate guy at heart. We love ya, Krankor! 🥰

This was one of my favorite skits of all time. I love how the main theme of this episode is how shocked Mike and the Bots are that they found a movie worse than prince of space.

I don't remember what channel it was, but there was a streaming service that offered old and rare movies like Neptune Men up for grabs in honest to goodness HD. I'll always feel really dumb for not taking the opportunity to store some of those for safekeeping. Neptune Men stood out because after all it is so abysmal and also features that Hitler building at one point. That streaming service died out very shortly after I discovered it.

I recorded a videotape that had Prince of Space and Invasion of the Neptune Men together as a double feature-- it was the last thing my mom watched with us in her hospital room before she died of pancreatic cancer. But, someone stole the tape (I suspect that it might have been my estranged brother who took it as a souvenir; but, who knows?). I own the Prince of Space DVD, now; but, I've been waiting and waiting for Invasion of the Neptune Men to come out on DVD.

Man, you can really feel it by the end of this segment, once Krankor's left: Mike, Crow, Servo, Gypsy, Magic Voice, they're all each other have up there, with the occasional calls from the Mads and all. It's gotta real feel hard losing hope in a situation like that, trapped up above Earth and starting to collapse under it all, only for a sucker punch like Neptune Men to nearly burn the sails.

I always loved the host segments where it got really wholesome out of nowhere like this, like when Mike and Pearl sat in her space-van and had hot chocolate, and Crow appeared and sat on Mike's lap like a kid. Smiles all around.

Seriously, we all THOUGHT Prince of Space was bad until Invasion of the Neptune Men, Goofy as they were, at least the Prince and Krankor had some personality- Space Chief and the water heaters from Neptune had nothing.
This is one of the most memorable moments of the show.

Oh, I realized when I first started watching anime, years ago, that the Japanese are simply not happy unless hundreds, if not THOUSANDS, of people die in their stories. The more innocent casualties, the better, for them. (Look at the body count in any slasher movie, and compare that to what it would be in any Gamera or Godzilla movie!)

This was such a fun surprise the first time I saw it. Too bad he hadn't been there for the Sandy Frank years. That said, in the face of Agent from HARM, Yucca Flats, and the dark Master we call Manos, was Neptune Men really that bad?

cahummel2 Well if that's how you feel, where do you stand on Prince of Space. My family loves that one.
@cahummel28 жыл бұрын
To be clear, the movie is terrible (Neptune Men) by itself. The comments make it great. Prince of Space a film is silly and fun by itself. Mike and the bots make it a classic. I love MST3K.
@philipmonihan82228 жыл бұрын
cahummel2 My assessment exactly. Although I firmly believe Neptune Men by itself is still better than, say, Manos or the Coleman Francis trilogy. Or Master Ninja. Bride of the Monster? I'm not sure.

Still waiting for The Phantom of Krankor to take over. Anyone or Thing is much better than the orange skinned, funny haired yelling maniac we had.
my son hated how crow sounded like jr on kane attacking his own brother then setting him in the casket on fire at the end of the 1998 royal rumble with wwe home video footage in season 8 saying dammit him and servo both that's why he prefers the 1st of the final three episodes of sponk where miles Julia vanessa of the red took on louie lori and tim of the blue cause of the global wrestling federation on espn classic that still lives on at&t uverse
