Jimmy's father served in the Pacific during WWII, hence Jimmy's Hawaiian shirt, which Dad picked up as a souvenir during a refueling stop in Honolulu. As a Marine Corps sergeant, Dad led his squad ashore at Tarawa under the command of Col. David Shoup. Actually it IS possible to straighten your spine completely, but you'd need something on you, of coarse it doesn't take tourture devices to do that. If you walk around with a "perfect" posture and something heavy enough to knock you down hits you on your head, it could shatter your spine, even if your head doesn't fracture and you survive.
