Donna Summer - Lucky (Extended Edit)

One of Donna Summer's best, but never released as a single, let alone an extended version. So, I made one myself, in homage to Disconet and Hot Tracks, the 1980s promotional remix services.
As we are approaching the 10 year anniversary since I uploaded this extended edit I would like to say "Thank you"!

This is the best sequence from the album. Can never get tired of listening on loop to this song. I really wish Donna had made another album with Casablanca in mid 1980, it would have been of incredible quality. Wanderer was not quite pure disco.

It is a pitty that this number is not included on the very best of- album. It has the same drive as ' I feel love' and great synth loops. I remember listening this track over and over again when I was a kid. The music still stands out, a timeless masterpiece. This remix sounds amazingly good, well done.

I think Hot Stuff should have been #1 for the year 1979, and #1 in sales for many consecutive weeks. It sold over 2 million copies. The whole Bad Girls album was phenomenal. Live and More was really good, as well.

love her. I was actually at Universal Amphitheater when they recorded DONNA SUMMER LIVE AND MORE. I was 15. All the songs on the album were sung FULLY ( not a medley like on the album ) There were a lot of songs sung that night that didn't make it on the album... like I REMEMBER YESTERDAY, WINTER MELODY and a bunch of others ( if you are interested i can tell you which ones. BAD GIRLS had not come out yet so no songs off that album were sung that night. She also had her daughter MIMI there and there was a HUGE HUGE fireworks display. The temperature that night was very warm ( it was in the summertime when Universal Amp. didnt have a roof on it , so it was "outdoors". I'd be happy to answer any questions..

I saw “Bad Girls” concert st the Universsl AmPhitheater. It had not yet been enclosed- was like the Hollywood Bowl or the Greek. Summer ‘79 I think. Warm. So nice under the stars. One of the sweetest songs recorded...it's deep bcuz it kinda gets into the mindset of a lady of the evening and supposes that she might fall in love and actually likes the guy...you kinda don't know who's the "lucky" one LOL (The guy of course but still it's she who asks him to stay and she who seems to not want to say "goodnight") it's a really sweet song under all ...this song makes my whole body feel good and only Donna could give shamelessly a character like this the sweetness of heart necessary...just a genius on many levels and so missed!
